After hours of travel, Jaci was finally taken to Kausen main den. The blind she-wolf was exhausted but was asked to get right to work, and figured it was best to just get some of the check up's over with. It was high noon, and the sun was falling over the horizon. Sunset would be in the next few hours, so Jaci went straight to the shaman den, but Dulce was not there. Knowing the Kausen pack well by now, since this was her third trip there, Jaci simply mettled with herbs and things in the healer den.
The dull colored she-wolf's pale moon like eyes stared aimlessly into the distance. They focused on nothing, unable to see through the darkness of her blindness. Jaci was used to being blind though. Since birth she was blind, though she was accustomed to it, she did however wish she could heal blindness. Despite her blindness, she didn't see herself as weak. She couldn't fight to save her life, but she saw her strength in her skills as a healer. As a healer, she wasn't just a blind wolf, she was a savior and a helper.

The pack was told to wait outside the healer den to let Dulce and Jaci look over them, but since Dulce was elsewhere, Jaci started without her. "Next."she called out the den, waiting to hear the sounds of paw steps.

ShiaWolfe:
Amoux had heard about the check up's and while the others didn't mind it, he wasn't so keen on being messed with. But of course he sucked it up and went to join the others in their formation outside the healer den. He watched anxiously as each of the wolves went and got their check up done, he was getting closer and closer to the front of the line. His ears flicked backwards as he heard a voice. " Next" He looked to see if anybody was in front of him, to his dismay he was next. With a sigh he moved forward over to the she-wolf giving the check-ups. Moving slowly he made his way up to her, suddenly feeling a huge lump in his throat. She was gorgeous, and while instead of being total natural about everything he stayed completely quiet, heart pounding.

ipann:
The sound of another animal entering the den caught Jaci’s attention. He was a large wolf, smelled of Kausen territory and a bit of pine. Jaci wasted no time on this male, he was like every other patient, and to be honest, Jaci was so exhausted, she just wanted to rest. ”What is your name?” she asked, ensuring she was remembering his scent as she began to press her nose into this fur. She did this often to many wolves, although many disliked it, hardly any fought against it. Jaci used her sense of smell to be the biggest help when it came to finding physical problems. She worked around the male, his fur elegant but in a way rough. Her nose went about him, sniffing out scars, any other injuries or whiffs of disease and infection that may be lurking in the male.
---------------------------------
ShiaWolfe:
He had been so focused on her that he honestly hadn't realized she had asked him a question. His mind buzzed as he continued to admire her, until something clicked in his brain and he was struck with a bit of embarrassment.
"Oh..I..--My name is Amoux," he felt like a babbling idiot at this point. Silently cursing himself he went back to watching her movements, it was when she pressed her nose into his fur that his whole body stiffened, and his muscles tensed. It wasn't that he disliked her, but more so the fact he hadn't been touched or messed with by another wolf in a LONG time. It seemed he had almost forgot the feeling, now he could only hope that she didn't think so poorly of him at this point. Taking a deep breath he closed his eyes for about a second before opening them, and relaxing his muscles. He continued to watch her inspect him, this was his first time going about this, but he sure as hell didn't make much of an impression like he had hoped.

ipann:
”It’s nice to meet you Amoux. I am Jaci. I am from Chandor, I came here to help do a quick check up, it shouldn’t take longer than a few minutes.” Jaci told him, hoping her small talk would ease him. Sensing the males sudden tenseness, Jaci chuckled lightly, ”Relax, I wont bite.” the she-wolf joked, hoping it would calm him, but he seemed to be getting over her inspection quickly. ”So Amoux, how long have you lived in Kausen Pack?” Jaci asked, still sniffing the male about. The male seemed fine, but that was just from the outside. Jaci pressed her nose to the male’s nose, inspecting his breathing. ”Sorry, I have to listen to your breathing, just keep talking to me as though I’m not all over you.” the dull coated she-wolf spoke, her voice soft, and charming. Jaci could hear Amoux’s heartbeat, it was awfully loud. She must be making him nervous so she stopped inspecting. She wanted him to feel more comfortable before she continued.
-----------------------------------
ShiaWolfe:
Amoux was able to clear his throat, "Hello Jaci..pleasure to meet you," he was getting calmer now, which was still odd for him. He chuckled lightly at her statement and felt the need to apologize for his body language. "I apologize for..stiffening up in such way. I've never had to do this before, I hope you take no offense," This was the first she-wolf that he actual felt comfortable with, why was he acting like such a bonehead? With a flick of his ears he continued " I joined a few months ago, but pack life is still taking me some getting used to.." He turned his head a bit to find she was pressing her nose directly into his, his ears flew backwards and his heart jumped to his throat.
"I..uh..yeah.." he was very very agitated with himself at this point, he couldn't even get his words jumbled. As he continued to stutter she broke the touch between them two. Amoux took in another breath.
"I'm very sorry..I don't know what's the matter with me.." If he could blush he would be doing so. He was supposed to be this big tough Guardian wolf, and he was acting like a pile of moosh. He was embarrassed for himself, and he wanted to bang his head into a tree a few times.
-----------------------------------------
ipann:
After a few moments, Jaci would tell he was calming, which was nice. ”Don’t apologize Amoux,” Jaci giggled softly, ”Please, don’t worry. I am a healer, I do this often.” Jaci smiled, wishing to see what Amoux looked like. Would he be handsome? Jaci waited and listened to Amoux, noticing that he had hardly taken any notice to the dead fish like eyes she had. She wondered if he even knew she was blind, or perhaps was being polite. Either way, she prefered it that way. Being treated as an equal was everything she had hoped for when she traveled to Chandor, receiving it from outsiders was a blessing.
Jaci listened to the greyish male speak, her eyes blinking and staring blanky in Amoux’s direction. ”Ah- yes. I joined at the beginning of summer. It was strange to get used to, but I don’t believe I will ever want anything other than pack life.” Jaci admitted, thinking of Sloan now. The loner who had helped her to Chandor, and the male she had been spending a lot of time with. She of course was healing him, but she couldn’t imagine living like he did. Alone day after day… she would surely starve if she wasn’t killed. The thought made her shiver.
Jaci chuckled, ”Don’t be silly, It’s normal to be nervous.”
With Amoux being so nervous, Jaci hadn’t wanted to upset him, ”Tell me about yourself Amoux. What rank are you?” Jaci asked, hoping more small talk would help the two get to know each other, and hopefully help with Amoux’s anxiety.
-------------------------------------
ShiaWolfe:

Amoux had sensed that Jaci was blind, but it didn't seem to bother him. He still thought that her eyes, regardless, were beautiful. She seemed to be a very kind soul, and he very much enjoyed her company, even if it was just for this small check up. He fixed his position as he listened to her sitting up straighter, as he looked into her eyes. " Yes...being alone. It's something I hope to never go through again," His past haunted him, and the memories came back to make his chest feel heavy with guilt. This is usually when he should shut himself down, the wolf had walls higher than the tall trees of the forest, that a lot of others just didn't want to climb. He didn't want her to sense how he was feeling, so he tried to shake it off with a roll of his massive shoulders. He was thankful she had been so understanding with him, and the dorkish way he was acting.
" I hope to become a Guardian..I know a good bit about combat, as you can probably figure from my ugly scars..but..yeah," Catching himself trailing off, he glanced to the outside of the den, wondering if the others were agitated at this taking so long, they probably thought something was wrong with him.
---------------------------------------
ipann:

Jaci could feel Amoux’s eyes staring daggers into her, which caused her to twitch in embarrassment. She wasn’t used to being stared at, but she tried not to let this bother her. She kept her smile and nodded cursing herself silently, knowing she probably brought up a sore subject. ”Ah a Guardian. I’m sure you could handle yourself, you are very healthy, and you are strong and big.” Jaci noted, taking what she had gotten from her small appointment with him and putting it together. ”Scars aren’t ugly. You know some wolves like scars.” Jaci noted and gave the male a smile. Jaci figured this was taking longer than the other check ups and felt her chest heaving in a sigh. ”Well, it has been a pleasure meeting you Amoux. You are perfectly fine physically. Be sure to avoid too many fights though. Getting an injury so close to winter could be hazardous.” Jaci spoke. Amoux seemed nice, more of a shelled sort of guy. He was far from an open book, and he seemed content that way.
”I’ll be here for the next few days if you need me. Thanks for taking the time to let me check up on you.” her heavy and long fur drooping as she gave the male a respectful bow of her head.
--------------------------------------
ShiaWolfe:

He couldn't help but smile at her comment about him being strong, his confidence levels were boosted. Amoux couldn't help but not want the check up to end. He wanted to talk to her more, but then again this was something he wasn't all quite sure about. Smiling he nodded as a response "Of course, I will keep that in mind..I will stray from fighting as much as possible," he said giving a small chuckle. As she wrapped up his check up and gave him a bow of her head, he huffed.
"It was a pleasure to meet you as well Jaci..," there was more he wanted to say, but he wasn't sure if he should be out with it. Glancing to the outside of the den once more, he went with his gut "I don't know if you get told this a lot but..you are beautiful," While he wasn't very outspoken, he had no problem saying what he felt. It was just the way he was, noble almost, he tried to be a gentleman as much as he could.
------------------------------------
ipann:

"I don't know if you get told this a lot but..you are beautiful,"

Beautiful

No one had ever called her beautiful before, perhaps her grandmother said something like eating right so then she could be beautiful, but never before had she ever been called beautiful to her face. She was flattered and flabbergasted really. Jaci’s mouth hung open for a moment as Amoux left the den. It took her a few heartbeats to gather her senses. Did someone really thing a useless blind wolf like her was… beautiful of all things? The thought made her heart skip. If he thought she was beautiful. Perhaps others saw her as beautiful as well.
Jaci shook the thoughts from her head and cleared her throat, calling in the next patient.

It was night when Jaci was finished, and she was very excited about being able to get some rest. She walked slowly to her nest, which was made for her when she traveled over. It was kind of the alpha of Kausen to give her such kindness.
Her thoughts seemed flooded, thinking of Artemis, a young she-wolf she considered close to her heart. Tamarack, her student. Sloan… the loner, her friend.. perhaps her best friend. And that wolf she met earlier that day, Amoux.

The she-wolf got in her nest, grooming her legs, nibbling at them, lost in thought, almost enough to keep her from sleeping.
-----------------------------------
ShiaWolfe:

As he excited the den he just hoped he wasn't too forward with her, but when he thought and felt something he had always chosen to say it. Not knowing if you'd ever see that wolf again, it had just been something he learned traveling with the younger wolves in the past. He had wished he could've told them more, and praised them more, but he didn't, and he couldn't..it was something he had to deal with.
He didn't go straight to his nest afterward, but went for a walk as he usually did in the evenings. It helped him think, and it cleared his mind. He sat at an open field for what seemed like hours, watching the moon raise up into the sky. But as it darkened he rose and headed back to Kausen, this is when he got to thinking. She was to be there the next couple of days, does this mean he would get to talk to her? Did she like him? Or did he make a fool of himself? Letting out a soft groan, he moved forward in the direction of his nest. Nearly reaching his destination he turned to see Jaci in her own nest, grooming over herself. He knew that he couldn't see him, but he once again stood and admired her from afar, and silently wished her a goodnight.
------------------------------------
ipann:

Jaci couldn't help but wonder if she would run into Amoux more in the next few days. The thought of meeting him again made her belly flutter with a nervousness, she had only felt once before... about- never mind. A little angry at herself for being so silly and bashful, Jaci chewed harder at her legs, closing her full moon like eyes. She was a very timid wolf, but she had never thought of romance before... of course the subject had come up once or twice, and oddly very frequently the last month. As though on cue, the wind carried the scent of the wolf she met earlier, Amoux. She turned, eyes staring aimlessly, and yet they searched, as though they could see. She could feel eyes staring into her and she fluffed her long fluffy chest and said quietly,"Amoux?" it couldn't be, she was sure he was off asleep in his own den. Jaci flicked her ear, listening for any signs that she was correct.
-------------------------------------
ShiaWolfe:

Amoux smiled lightly at her and moved himself forward even more just to she could hear him correctly. " Ah well..no need to apologize, I have a habit of coming back late..," Quite frankly at this point he was happy she would be around for the next few days, maybe it would be easier for him to figure out whatever he was feeling. He caught himself just standing and shook out his fur a bit, she was probably exhausted and he didnt' wanna be the one to keep her up. "Well..have a good night Miss Jaci," he spoke softly, gently almost and turned to pad to his nest. Once there he flopped himself down, and curled himself to fit. For once it was very easy to fall asleep for him, not the usual on and off sleeping schedule. He was thankful for that at least.
