Description

Inspired by the Phoenix:heart: series done by miss ~MadMarchHare :flirty: A captivating story coupled with amazing visuals. I highly suggest checking it out B-)
:bulletred:The tale begins here: [link]
:bulletorange:But yes, my first red/yellow/orange facepainting ordeal! :dummy::meow: D'acryl acrylics, blue no-name glitter, leftover facepaints from halloween, and lots of free time/photofiltre. :aww:
:bulletyellow:The result was a Marvelesque-bodyart-photo(manipulation). :woohoo: This was super hard to put into a category. It wasn't all digital, it wasn't all traditional. :hmm:
Btw, I was going to try to get the whole flame-hair thing that she has going on in the picture, but the editing looked cheesey =P So I opted out of the cheese-fest and instead went for a sense of realism. After all, Hikastia has dark hair in human form
Enjoy!

:iconcritique-it:
:bulletblack:Is the contrast/intensity of the colours overkill, or a good stylized approach?
:bulletblack:Keeping in mind the inspiration behind this: [link] is there anything that could have been done to make the image more effective? i.e. a background, more of the shoulders/ body showing, less negative space, etc.

I hate how there isn't a mixed media category for a mix of traditional and digital art ;( It's really annoying. Nevertheless, this is amazing body art, I really like it. I think the colours and the intensity of the worked out fine, especially considering the inspiration.

However, I do think more could have been done to make the image a bit more interesting, and a bit more of your own depiction of the character. I quite like the hair the way it is, but I think you should have done something with the background - I'd suggest a flame but that might be a bit generic. I think the amount of body you've shown is fine although maybe you could add into the picture whatever the character is looking up at - that might make it a bit more interesting.
