Aphrodite - 2019 Human Form Ref

Another drawing I made while chilling out for the last couple of days. This woman has needed a new human ref for a long time and I'm so happy to finally be getting around to it. ;; I really love how this came out.

The original sketch I drew that turned into this was drawn in 2018 which is why the date is a little extra. This sketch has been sitting in my WIP's for two years because I figured out that the original file format I saved this to doesnt translate to Medibang at all, and I kept putting it off bc I'm not a huge fan of Sketchbook's inking tools. (In fact, Medibang and Sketchbook really dont get along that well even with PSD files for some reason. You just can't transfer files between the two programs without things getting messed up. ) BUT. I've found a way to work around it so I've actually been able to ink things in Sketchbook with relative ease. Its not that bad. The interface really is super intuitive and user-friendly, which I gotta give it credit for.

There were certain parts of this that I had to redraw because my style/anatomy skills had actually improved since 2018 and I wanted to make sure I was putting out something I was happy with, but there wasnt enough about the original sketch that I thought needed to be scrapped to justify redrawing it from scratch. I really wanted to look at this and see Aphrodite. And because I was able to make the necessary tweaks to it, I definitely do. This was such a fun project and I'm happy to finally see it finished and out of my WIP folder. ;w;

Just for comparison's sake because IMPROVEMENT, heres the ref she had that was made in 2016:   There were definitely some elements that stuck with me and transferred over into the 2018 version that I used, but overall the new one is definitely much better lol. I think she has a much more solid aesthetic/style now and I'm so happy with it. She looks so much classier and more elegant now. ;w;
