Description

Well, I'll try not to babble too much this time, but its probably inevitable...

First of all, a big thank you to :icontramwayphotography: for informing me that the engines were transferred here, otherwise, I wouldn't have gone there just now.

What you can see here is a class 110 with the "Ozeanblau-Beige" livery instead of the "Verkehrsrot" of the other 110 on the right and the 115 on the left. The 115 is basically a 110, but was given a different type number for buerocratic reasons, as it was used by a different subcompany of the DB. In English, it would probably translate into oceanic-blue and beige/fawn, you can probably see what I mean ;)

Whats very interesting (from a German railfan's point of view) is the fact that even now, in 2008, one still gets to find an engine with this livery, as it was introduced back in 1974. Then "Orientrot" was used following 1987, and then came "Verkehrsrot", which covers all engines nowadays, and was first used in 1997. This engine we see here has survived two generations of different varnishes, carrying only the second livery that was ever used on this engine type. The first and to my mind best looking one was "Cobaltblau" which you can see here [link] Pardon me for always talking so much, but as there are only a handful of German railfans on DA, I always try to bring a little history and background story to my pics through the description. If you're reading this, thank you for your interest and patience :)

Again, sorry for the miserable image quality, but my camera seems to be unable to 1.) focus correctly each time and 2.) not to create fuzzy colours as seen on the engine to the left. But as you know, cameras don't grow on trees :D

EDIT: Here you can find a closeup [link]
