Railtour Filler

As promised, I won't upload trainloads of standard trainshots that contain nothing too interesting, unless you happen to be a German railfan, or just very interested in German railroads. As I submit such not-so-special pics to a railroad forum, I'll post a link to my thread that contains the photos in the description of this pic. I'll use the update function so you'll be able to see when a new link was added. If you have any comments, feel free to comment here, if there should be too many after some time, I can always hide the older ones. :)

Class 218, eh? Big buffers are big. :D

Jup, a 218, though the buffers are rather standard sized :D

I mean compared to our little ones. :XD:

I though American engine all use a central coupler, so have no buffer?

That's what I mean. I'm silly. They're so small over here, they're nonexistent! :XD:

On that note, I was never quite sure what the function of the buffers is. Do European trains have a different style of coupler? :?

That is correct, while Americans use a central coupler that is suitable for push and pull forces, we still use a coupling hook & chain with spring loaded buffers, that keep the chain under tension and transfer pushing forces. I've made a pic about this topic once: [link]

Ohh, that makes sense. ;)

Looks fine to me!

Besides I can't read German. =p

Hmm, that does seem to be a problem I didn't really think about :XD: But if you're curious about the description of a pic or two, just ask, it's mostly standard foamer babble. :D

Oh, and thanks very much for the fave! :)
