For quite some time now, I wanted to do a little series about my daily commute between Leverkusen and Duisburg. I always find it interesting how the daily lives of other deviants look like when captured with a camera, so I highyl encourage anyone who always has his camera with him all the time to do something similar. If you've already done something like this, please tell me! Even if it's just a photo of the train you usually ride each day.

Anyways, here's how my day starts off, after riding my bike to the station. Yes, the one that got stolen but was returned by the thief. I guess it sucked too much for him. We're standing on the platform at track 5, with the destination display having changed from displaying my train to displaying "Caution, train passing through", accompanied by an automatic announcement. The train in this case is a CityNightLine one, pulled by a class 120, doing 200kph (125mph) as it roars past.

Here's a Google Maps view of the station, we're standing on the platform to the right of the tracks when viewed from above. Here's also a shot of the train that I normally take, though that one was stranded because of a lone backpack. Also note the "Bayerkreuz" in the background, the largest illuminated advertisement in the world.

Anyone interested in more? Anywone willing to do something similar?


PS: Yes, I noticed that I forgot to change my camera's internal clock to winter time.
