Description
I don't want to spam your message centres too much, so I thought I'd compose some of the pics I wanted to show you into a collage, including a recreation of this old pic [link] in the top left corner.
Download for full size of course. I thought I'd write up a description about eacht pic, but I feel kinda tired, and I don't know how many care to read through my monologues. So if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Yes, we're dealing with a subway here, but shooting underground is difficult due to large crowds and limited perspectives, so I opted for the two stations on this line that are above the surface. All of the rolling stock we see here was built in the Soviet Union, due to be replaced by new toys [link] uh, trains by Alstom...
What I found most interesting is that a fellow Hungarian recognized the smiling lad with the shades on the wide pic. The world is smaller than one thinks it is...

What about the Budapest Metro line 1, the first subway in continental Europe? It's a bit more historically interesting I think. It was completed in 1896, for the 1,000th anniversary of Hungary. The trains that go on it today are not very interesting I think, but the line itself is just beautiful.
