Welcome to Volume 2 of Do's & Dont's for the vector gallery. Do's & Dont's is a bi-monthly article that will help explain what is and isn't allowed in deviantART's vector gallery. In this issue I'll help clear up some issues I've noticed with Text Art, W.I.P.'s and Retouching your vector works. Where as none of these are "wrong" there is a "right" way to use them.
Text Art:
Don't post Text Art in the vector gallery. I can understand the thought process there: "But text is technically a vector, what makes it not eligible for the vector gallery?" Simple, there is a text art gallery made specifically for your artistic creations involving text. So while yes, text is technically a vector object, it does not belong in the  vector gallery. If you stop to read the gallery description you would see there is a suitable gallery or sub-gallery for each artist endeavor.

So you've read news features on vexel art and vector art... you've seen a few Daily Deviations under the vexel or vector art category... you've even started to become a fan of the art form, now you want to take that leap into actually creating it yourself!
Well it's a good job you're reading this article as I'm about to give you some advice on how easy it is to get into this art form and how enjoyable it can be... even addictive!
Introduction
First thing you have to understand is that vexel and vector art are not a STYLE. It's a common misconception that these categories are a style when infact they are just the medium. Specificially with vectors, it may look like an airbrushed piece, but infact it's vector meshes!

In this issue I'll help clear up some misconstrued concepts surrounding brushes, filters, and textures in your vector works. Where as none of these are "wrong" there is a "right" way to use them.
Brushes:
Just about every graphics program has the ability to use and create custom brushes. However just because the title of a set of brushes has the word "Vector" in it does Not make it capable of creating vector artwork. Below are some Do's and Don'ts of vector brush work:
Don't use photoshop brushes when creating vector pieces. Photoshop brushes can only create Raster based images! If the brush pack has the word vector in the title this is just the brush artists point of view. This is what the creator of the brush se
