Direhorse Redesign

Description

This is my take on the direhorse from the film 'Avatar' by James Cameron. Direhorses were horse-like animals that the Na'vi used as mounts. Their design as a large nectivore was interesting, but left a lot to be desired. Their leg arrangement was a tripping hazard and their horse-like gait anatomically impossible. I envision the direhorse as a longer animal with claws, not hooves, to let it climb through the enormous trees of the Pandoran forest in search of flowers and a long balancing tail. This direhorse is very gracile, as it does not need the large gut of an Earth horse just to digest a fluid diet. This direhorse could be ridden on both land and through the canopy, and would be able to rapidly ascend cliffs and trees thanks to its retractable grasping claws and concave toe pads that would provide a degree of suction.

Speedpaint, took like an hour.

This is beautiful. Would you consider doing a redesign of the Na'vi? It always irked me how different they were from the rest of the Pandoran lifeforms Your artwork is some of the best speculative evolution artwork on DeviantArt and I know that if you do a redesign of them it would do great justice in making them much more believable.
