Cloudburst Mountain Wyvern

A man-sized swiftlet, the cloudburst mountain wyvern is an omnivore native the alpine meadows and boreal regions of Levester and Gymnuris in the northeastern southern hemisphere of Sheatheria. They are highly ornamented animals which use their intricate plumage and large dewlaps in courtship; both genders are identical. Once courtship is completed, a lifelong bond is established. The animal's plumage is blue to reflect back as much harmful UV radiation from the sun as possible, for they live generally live at high altitudes where the atmosphere is thin. The hindlimbs of these animals like all wyverns are reduced only to small nubs with two vestigial claws, and have no practical use in day to day life any longer.
