n6 Design Space by Shastro n6 Design Space by Shastro
For those who find this kind of thing boring, ill perhaps make up for it by sharing an interesting song :Pwww.youtube.com/watch?v=tCUc3K…
its 12 minutes long so take a seat and close your eyes before you dive in.

Now then,

Here is a representation of how my spidron generation code can generate a sizeable variety in structures via controlling only two variables. From any of these i can make larger spidron complexes, and I'm wondering about what happens when two spidron columns of the same rotational value link together with different gen scales, I also need to see how these variables effect structural density as well.

You can see that some of the outputs are mangled geometry of no use, and others look messed up, but thats just a part of cycles' wireframe node, and not the geometry's fault.

Ive wanted to have this large array of all the meaningful 6 sided (can easily be changed to 8 or 12 or 300000 sides) though the meaningful design space decreases very very quickly as the number of sides goes up.

Do zoom in and look about, its a large file for a reason.

I understand that 2 people will find this interesting in my entire follower base.

I have no idea who that other guy is but count me interested!

So are these generated in Blender with python or do you have another method?

Also, not a very acedemic observation, but if you move the picture from side to side you sometimes get an animated progression (alot easier do on mobile with a swipe).

:D.

Yep, generated in python with a custom script. Has a few nifty UI buttons too

Sometimes those are the best kind of observations! I did notice that, maybe I'll write some code to animate a progression for me, I think that would look rather cool in a gif.
