This image, oh my this image, I rendered this soooo many times on my computer, only for it to crash right at the end due to memory consumption, all because I forgot to disable Freestyle NPR rendering. It took me 4 days 3 15 hour renders and lots of pain to figure it out, in the end I sent it off to renderstreet and got it rendered in about 2 hours, for only 8 dollars. As for the image itself there are a few things I dislike, but i learned loads and loads about bump mapping, specularity mapping, cloth simulation, and displacement mapping. Hope you enjoy!

Made with Blender, and Photoshop

Render Information
-
On my computer it took about 13 hours at 4k res, 4000 samples before it crashed
-On renderstreets render farm it took about 2 hours at 4k res, and 4000 samples before it did just fine

Other Information
-
Originally I had put particle hair systems in both the hat and the cape, but it didn't look good and cause more problems than benifits
-Contrary to what most people would expect her hair looks god awful from any other angle than the camera angle, try looking at her face head on, it looks like a rug.

Woot! Season 5 (Even though I can't watch it ;_; ) and as always Thanks for reading this far down, and STAY AWESEOME!

Neat render! I see we are subscribed to the same awesome tutorial channel on youtube ;)

For the cloth sim on the hat I think it would have looked a little better by increasing the bend size. I know how frustrating it is to get cloth to work right in blender. Even if it looks a little more like silk than a hat material (from how the cloth bends, not node material)  this is a really cool render. I'd really like to see your node setup on that hair, because it looks spectacular once again! /)

yeah the hat rim cloth is something several people (not on deviantart) have noticed, and to be honest something I didn't even think about, next time for sure ill make it like an actual hat, not a blanket (I think it has the properties of denim) basically I just chose from the preset and adjusted detail, and collision settings. Lazy me, the focus was the tiles though.

As for the node set up, you wont believe how unbelievably simple, stupid, and unarticulated it is, thanks to blenders hair bsdf node, before in some of my earlier renders I had to make my own shader but now its simple (of course it can get infinitely better and more complex and beautiful... something I plan on learning)

Here's the node setup: i.imgur.com/tQdzTR3.jpg

Andrew Price is my life, so much to learn, these images I don't really classify as art, since their not a product of pure aristic imagination, more like repurposed tutorials (I have artistic images like that in my head) but these recent images are more like tiny stepping stones in which I learn something small, so that through time I can learn the skills I need to make what I really want to , when that day comes, I can finally call myself an artist, but not until then.

Well it must just be paintbrushes don't look right with nodes like that. That is infuriatingly simple ;P

Well I'm glad that you are uploading the images either way, I love them!

I'm Glad you like them, learning better hair shaders is something on the top of my "things to learn" list, I'm glad you like my images, whether or not they are art, or all that creative :)

If you got inspired to make something I'd venture to call it art ;)

sincerely, since I only like to mess up with it, I didn't buy the program. I don't wanna promote pirating Photoshop but for who just likes to draw random stuff, 10 bucks or more for using the program something like 5 times a month isn't that convenient (also, the language pack is broken and I have to try understanding french... and I'm italian)

its the photography package, it comes with both photoshop and lightroom, its more expensive to just get photoshop, lightroom is cool too! I'll check and make sure :)

It looks stunning!

I really love that lighting on the cobblestones, it sort of looks like this is just after some rain fell.

Thank You so much! Expeccially since I kinda cut corners when making it, and since its pretty simple, makes me feel like I know something.

Funny thing about the lighting is the fact that its just one light, most basic lighting possible, Thanks again for such a nice comment :)

Very nicely done although her smile kinda ruins this picture for me, atleast with the name and the way everything else is setup =P
