[Friend Off] - The Hood by Shastro [Friend Off] - The Hood by Shastro
Although this image was initially intended for EQD Daily's Friend Off (…) I did not really stick to the scene that I had planned to create (had a hooded figure in a white room, next to a doctor), but I found that whenever I added the white room, it showed her face (something I didn't want). I suppose that problem could have been fixed with Render layers, but seeing that its 9:24pm this'll have to do. I will still submit it, because without it this image would have never existed.

Plus it really is a good story, and could use some promotion (I think)-->…

Not really sure if that thing up there looks anything like cloth (it doesn't) but does represent a significant number of hours of sculpting practice!

Render Information(because why not):
-Rendered on an Nvidia GTX 860m, with 2gigs VRAM, and a system memory of 8 gigs
-Took 1 hour and 9 minutes.

Other Information:
-Interestingly enough the blue is a result of a cloth texture with modified scaling via, the mapping node.
-In addition if you put this in blenders compositor and turn up the brightness via the RGB curves you can see her rendered hair (that actually have a proper material) and her entire face :)
-She has no eyes...

Anyway be sure to remember to STAY AWESOME! and have a nice Thursday night :)

Super creepy in the best possible way, Shastro.

Now that I'm caught up on Mente Materia, perhaps I'll go check out this fic… although I do still need to finish reading Project Horizons. Eeehh… why can't I just be able to read multiple things at once? That would be the most awesome of lame super powers ever.

Yay Creepy...

Had a more in depth response, but my internet destroyed the message as it was sent :(
Anyway I think that its a good fic, but I haven't really read many others so I couldn't tell you if it was "good" by comparison

Meh, Mondays...

Hah. Tell me about it. I'm keying out green screen material at work right now and it's going to take me at least another hour before I can head out.

So, question… if I had your Blender file and cranked up the brightness in curves, would there just be blackness where the eyes should be (which wouldn't freak me out so bad), or would I be staring in to hollow soulless pits? Because honestly the last line of your Other Information section is what really put the nightmare fuel in my head. xD

Yep you would see some hollow soulless pits (but the eyelashes kinda take out the creepiness factor, in addition you can only see one eyes because of her hair)
Oddily enough the eyes were only removed so that they wouldn't gather light, and thus be shown. Strangely turning up the brightness does not seem to be having the same effect that it had before, but it gave be an idea, to maybe add Easter eggs in my dark images, where anyone who wanted could just crank up the brightness and contrast and see something hidden.

Also you don't need my blend file to change the contrast, you can just put it in a compositor in any regular blend (I often do this) and edit it using the RGB curves separately.

Now if only I had made this image back around Halloween time...
