Its been a fun ride, but I think I'll leave Deviant art Now.
If you'd still like to follow my work
Follow me on instagram at @shastros
Discord me if you'd like at Shastro#8338 though I can't promise I'll always respond
Reasons for this are somewhat unclear, lot is happening in my life, and frankly I haven't engaged in the Deviant art community in a very long time.
Its been even longer since I've had any interest in MLP, it is unlikely I'll ever make MLP art again.
I appreciate the special few who have stuck it out and shown interest in all my work, and lately I've not even shown much of my work on here.
The problem is most of the people who follow me are interested in MLP and or 3D, and because I've produced little of neither, viewer engagement is extremely low with my work, and my audience is generally pretty alienated it seems. Most of my new followers leave within a first new post, they find some of my old MLP work, hit watch, and then see a drawing or a picture that doesn't interest them and leave. I don't blame them, but I've built up an MLP following when my interests aren't aligned with that anymore.
I was never even really a fan of the show, I saw at most 4 or 5 episodes in my life, and those where with my friends back in middle school, right as MLP hit its peak.
Now I am in college, and my interest in this whole thing has really only been there in spurts. I stuck with MLP for so long because I got attention for it when I produced work, something I didn't get elsewhere, anything unrelated generally fell to the wayside. I used MLP as an outlet to grow my skills as a 3D artist, produced fan art to learn and make something that felt like people wanted to see, not because I was a true fan. In fact I created a DA as a joke back in middle school, along with my first post.
All that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with DA, and I've met some good people, and some bad ones too, but from all I've learned a little bit.
Special thanks to:
Don't feel bad if your name isn't on this list, my memory isn't perfect, but those three showed alot of enthusiasm for all of my work.
Especially JetPowerFIE and madcomputerscientist, you two have shown way more enthusiasm and engagement and for longer than I ever would have expected from anyone.
Beyond that, thank you to all, especially to all who commented, and especially to those who commented frequently, thank you to all who Favorited my work, and liked it enough to follow me.
It really did mean alot to me, without DA my skills as a 3D artist would have never have grown so quickly or dramatically, I had no professional training and I was really quite young.
I'm still debating if I should leave the page up, but I'm unsure if that would be worth it if I don't plan on using it. Currently the plan is to leave it up for a few weeks, give people a chance to read this and say something if they wish, but after that, I'll close shop, perhaps I'll start anew, build up a fresh audience that more closely revolves around my interests, but only time will tell. At this point DA is a small part of my life, and I've got bigger fish to fry.
Thank you, yes you, for reading this far,
