Emerald Visions by sharkrey Emerald Visions by sharkrey
UF3

I'm working on my masking and texturing skills.

Dang...soooooo much to learn....

Hmm...Thumb is not showing for me. I can view this full view, but the thumb isn't loading. Anyone have an idea why?

really like this one... I like when fractals look physical, as if they are actual objects in front of you.. this achieves this nicely...

Gorgeous frac, sharkrey! Nice palette and love the smooth shiny bits. Though the gradient appears simple, it contributes to the striking difference and depth between the shiny forground and the fuzzy background.

I can see your thumbs just fine on my system!

Thank you...I like the gradient because of it's low saturation.

Thumb not showing is not unusual, it shows now. There's some kind of glitch that should have been fixed.(Well it has mostly your just lucky :-)) It was really bad a couple of weeks back, nothing showed on the user page for 24 hours or so. Might have something to do with traffic, this is a busy place!

Subtle green is great on this piece, combined with Silvery look is stunning! Keep up the good work!

hmmmm, everybody seems to be a "former" something! Just noticed that! :giggle: Now you have to work your Apo addiction into your UF addiction and you'd be an "Apouf" addict. Sounds dangerous and possibly catching!

took a roam through your gallery...this caught me
i've been doing a lot of looking at jewelry magazines and such in prep for going to an art college for a bfa in metals and jewelry

this strikes me as the point when jewelry really does become alive, rather then simply mimicing plant life.

i also love the color * .* goodness insane pretty

this makes me want to go fiddle with UF again

Actually...I've had several people mention that it would make a good jewelry piece. If you are getting into jewelry design, I would think you'd be able to create some very unique fractal-based pieces.

Thaks for taking the time to poke around in my gallery, and for leaving some comments. They're much appreciated.

y'know, somehow i'd managed to go all this time without putting those two together! Fractal jewelry...that's awesome..

sometimes the obvious hides under our nose. like a blindspot when looking for things in the fridge

Fantastic! :worship: I love 3D looking fractals - something I gotta learn how to do.
See the fuzzy edge at the bottom of the curved arms? Did you try to make them hard edges like on other parts of the curves? I think that would make it look even more like a solid object.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to comment...

"See the fuzzy edge at the bottom of the curved arms?"
This is the first render where I was developing my masking skills with UF. You are correct, they would be better hard edge, which would be easy to do, but at the time I wasn't that sharp. I am comtinuing to learn though...maybe one day I'll go back and fix that.

This is by far my favorite of your Ultra Fractal pieces. The shapes and the 3-d effects are stunning, as well as the textures and colors.
