Sharkledogs are my namesake species. Of course Sparky Shark isn't the only Sharkledog in the world!
In fact, there are different kinds of Sharkledog out there. Some of them are even sparkly colors!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHARKLEDOG BIOLOGY

Sharkledogs superficially resemble dogs due to their generalized footedness, body structure and noisy barking - yet at least genetically, these creatures are derived purely from sharks! As such, they have manysimilar features...

+Denticles: Like their elasmobranch kin, Sharkledogs are covered snout-to-tail in fine scales coated with enamel. These tooth-like scales are called denticles, and give Sharkledogs a shiny, slippery appearance.

+Gill Slits: A unique trait of Sharkledogs is the presence of two sets of gill slits. One set occurs on either side of the neck. The second iteration is on the torso, behind the forelimbs

+Ampullae of Lorenzini: These “freckles” detect electricity given off by living things. Only effective when submerged in water

And yes; of course the Sharkledogs can speak! Some of them can even sing and dance and tell jokes too. A few aren't even terrible at it!
Goodness, why wouldn’t they be able to?

LEOPARD SHARKLEDOGS
Leopard Sharkledogs resemble Swell Sharkledogs, but have different behavior and life history. They will give birth to large litters of live young, and are bold energetic hunters. A clear distinction between the two is the dorsal fin location. Leopard Sharkledogs are agile and adventurous. They do not have the strength of Bull Sharkledogs but a knack for  wriggling out of tough situations unscathed. They get along well with the mild-mannered Swell Sharkledogs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SWELL SHARKLEDOGS
Swell Sharkledogs are shy, gentle creatures, and are named for their tendency to puff up like balloons when surprised! Swell Sharkledogs love to be in the company of other Sharkledogs. They are very friendly and have a relatively mild bite. Unlike most Sharkledog species, the Swell sharkledog is oviparous; they lay pouch-like eggs that resemble seaweed which they hide near their dens. In the wild, they live in undersea caves with their pack.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BULL SHARKLEDOGS
Bull Sharkledogs are tough, stocky, and fearsome. They will not hesitate to tear anything to shreds anything or anyone who threatens what they hold dear.  Wild Bull Sharkledogs patrol wide territories and usually live alone or with a mate.Though their reputations are terrible, if you become friends with a Bull Sharkledog, you can be certain that you will always be safe from those who mean you harm. Bull Sharkledogs have litters of 2-3 live pups.
