I like this A) as a photograph in its own right B) as a piece of photographic art...if that makes sense...well i shall just say it caught my eye, held my attention and made me comment, which i suppose in its own way is recognition and appreciation
Don't get me started on that subject..The Trigger Happy Favourite Brigade...i think i have written on more deviants pages ( than i care to remember ) asking them in simple plain English, as to why they just click on so many images and then store them..for what? and if they are so obsessed with this ritual, why don't they ask nicely and take over my page/gallery, it will save me hours of writing stern health warnings to these vile creatures
BUT i must say that the image in question, is indeed most note worthy and i can visualize it as a breath taking canvas or framed print in some really elegant place!! where people can sit and admire a true work of art! Kindest Regards Mr Angry ( or to you ) Athol
You have a good point. I've come across deviants who have hundreds of thousands of favorites collected, they literally binge-fave while online. I shake my head, wondering if they ever go back and peruse their mammoth collections. It makes you wonder.
Make no mistake, I enjoy seeing my work get collected, but I put a higher premium on a thoughtful comment. This is (supposed to be) a community of artists and art appreciators. There should be some dialogue between us.
There are 1,665 works in my Favourites Collection, I'm confident that 99% of those works has a comment from me in the creators' page. I feel it's important to say something positive to an artist when I collect their work.
That said, sometimes I get what I like to call "fave-bombed." Someone comes to my gallery and collects dozens of photographs. They've discovered me and they really like what they see. I find that to be a big compliment, but it would be nice if they left a comment in the gallery . . .
I love your commentary, and agree 100%, as for FAV BOMBERS..( sheer genius ) and i shall indeed use this expression, when writing my cutting remarks on the pages of these ghastly characters warning them or indeed highlighting their serious lack of an normal and decent self respect..JUST one COMMENT, simple but hugely appreciated by the artist concerned!
