What an extraordinary piece! Blown Away  From a distance this is almost microscopically abstract where the creatures & their environment seem to meld into each other, but upon closer inspection you can see the macroscopically well defined detail differentiating each subject. Interestingly, this style reminds me of a combination of Esteban Maroto, Frank Frazetta, Jay Anacleto, Jan Duursema & Rebecca Guay but remains your own. Clearly you're artistically distinctive but I am curious what artists are influences. fella thinking ( Reactions )

Well thank you! That's a lovely summation! Another artist described it as ferociously abstract, which i thought would be a nice autobiography title. Frazetta is definitely one of my influences, but Bernie Wrightson was primary source, along N C Wyeth and Franklin Booth. The Hoplohoneus is also a nod to Zdenek Burian's famous Columbian Mammoth painting. Newer influences also include Nico and Evan Cagle.
