Wow, the softness of the strokes and details and the lighting behind her create a gentle, elegant mood that I just love, enhanced by the soft curls of her hair and loose draping of her shirt. The darkness of the shirt and simple background (with dancing motes of light that have an almost fairytale, twilight feel) keeps your attention on her face. I like how much detail is in her face even with the very soft painting style--the crinkles in her lips, the breaks in her eyebrows, the stray hairs. This is absolutely beautiful, and seems to celebrate a gentle and very natural sort of beauty that comes not just from her physical appearance but her soft expression and the personality evoked by the composition and style of the painting. Really gorgeous.
