"Are we there yet?" asked Cotton for the tenth time.
"We should be getting there soon," Night answered. He felt better once he was up in the sky. He also felt brave again. "There's a green sign down there. I want to look at it."
He flew down until he was perched on top of a sound barrier along the freeway. The green sign had white letters.
"Tamarack," he read out loud for his brother and sister to hear. "One mile."
"We're almost there!" Cotton cheered. She took Ginger by the paws and twirled him through the air.
As soon as their excitement subsided, they flew the last mile to an overpass. They sat in the grassy divider next to it. Night watched the Native cars and trucks zoom past them at alarming speeds.
"What should we do?" Ginger's voice distracted Night for a moment.
"We should visit the lake," suggested Cotton.
"We can do that."
