Myceil

Blame Lucas the Spider for getting me to face my own fear of spiders. I looked up "cute spider" and I was not disappointed with the results. I fell in love with some of the most adorable species of jumping spiders, peacock spiders, blue tarantulas, cottonball spiders, and the dancing peacock spider. When I was drawing Myceil, I looked around pinterest and, as it turns out, other DnD enthusiasts also created cute spider characters for adventures and it warmed my heart. I couldn't be happier to draw something with such a large amount of cuteness.

Myceil went through several name changes such as "Michi", "Chichi" (after my cat), "Zippi", and "Shoomster." He also went through several destroyed drawings of a teeny spider to a spider big enough to ride, which led to my first drawing of a drider I made named Kilhroy. The little guy was never really meant to be Oamki's pet. Originally, Myceil was supposed to belong to Shamira and Voc'taria's mom. Then, with Shamira's fear of spiders, it made more sense for someone who loves spiders to have him. He also was going to be Kilhroy's pet, since driders are shepherds for spiders. It would make sense, but, with Kilhroy's teddybear, Mr. Fuzzypants, another cute object would take away from both characters.

Ramblings aside, I hope everyone enjoys this fluffy baby as much as I enjoyed drawing him. HOPEFULLY, I won't feel the need to do another redesign. That's why he looks different in the previous piece "Meeting the Matron Mother."
