Meeting the Matron Mother

This was started last year as one of the prompts for the Drawtober event for 2023. After so many scrapped sketches, breaks, and pushing through for a year, I am FINALLY able to finish and post this piece.

The Do'ghym clan is split into two factions: the house loyal to the Queen of Spiders and the house that has turned away from her teachings to follow the Seldarine teachings with Eilistraee as the bridge goddess between the Seldarine drow and Arvandor. Oamki Do'ghym is part of both and neither as a follower of Sylvanus, the God of nature. She saw the benefit of the two young elves meeting people from both factions. She is "Fortunate" enough to gain the audience of the Matron Mother of the Lolth-sworn side, Vala Do'ghym. In the receiving area of the house of Do'ghym, the blue spider perched upon Oamki's head tries to make his teeny body appear bigger as two giant spiders accompany the incoming matron. The girls, Voc'taria (taller with white and yellow hair) and Shamira (Shorter with white hair), are nervous. Shamira was already afraid of anything arachnid as it was. Having ones as big as the giant spiders gave her a feeling of dread unlike anything she had felt before. The matron raised a hand to halt their movement as the druid bowed in respect. She was none too pleased to see the girls not doing the same.

This is a part of Shamira and her sister's backstory. I had them intended on meeting the matron so she can attempt to stamp out their surface world upbringing and start the process of molding them into good little minions of the Spider Queen. I originally, had Oamki as just a spoiled noble who liked to see the girls suffer. Here, she is intending to give them a larger picture of where each faction stands before they mind their path. Unfortunately, her well intended plan was about to be betrayed.
