So after some hard months of soul searching I've finally committed myself to a routine of doing a sketch a day. It worked wonders for me in Uni and when I first started out and after 11 days of restarting the habit the feel is starting to kick back in. In a couple weeks I'll be off to Singapore and then Australia until May, and I intend to keep the habit sketching in a ringbound like I used to. Being able to draw on demand is a skill that has always given me a lot of satisfaction and confidence, I'm a little sad to have put it off for so long but better late than never :)
If only DA allowed uploads from my mobile camera!
A friend of a friend the other day came to me and asked me to finish up an old design I did so that he could model it. Said friend then suggested that he be able to sell said content through his Second Life store.
My reaction; I'm totally cool with it! :)
If anyone sees a design in my gallery they wish to develop themselves, just shoot me a message and I'll make sure that it's published under Creative Commons, unless of course the work already belongs to a client~
You'll be free to develop, publish and sell the item, I only ask that you credit the original design to me ^^
Peace!
Artists tend to make quite the fuss about bad anatomy in characters and rightly so. Poor representation of anatomy is the product of not understanding how the underlying structures of the human body are meant to work together. The only cure for this is to study anatomy from life and photographic reference.
Too often as artist we try to learn how to draw anatomy from the drawings of other artists, sometimes learning "tricks" and visual "tropes" to get away with certain representations. This is only avoiding the inevitable; in order to grow and improve as artists we do need to spend time memorizing how stuff works for real.
Sadly even more of
