I can feel you miss her

Amy: 14 years
Shadow: immortal

Headcanon:

At some point in time after Team Sonic and Eggman with Shadow and Rouge returned home from their battle against the Metarex, Amy starts gaining interest in Shadow -platonically.
They start spending more time together as Amy conveniently creates opportunities for her to talk to him.
Shadow doesn’t invest much in this contact as she does, but tolerates her presence around him.

Amy sees him struggle with the loss of his dear friend Maria and decides to create some sort of grave for Maria for Shadow to visit and finally properly mourn her.
She finds a secluded, serene spot in the woods to build him this memorial place.

When she shows Shadow this, he’s, not uncharacteristically, at loss for words.
Amy’s unsure whether to approach him in that moment, but Shadow stutters:


“Can you leave me be for a while?”

For once she tries not to push it, seeing the vulnerability of this situation.
She turns around to leave Shadow alone when she hears him catch his breath.

“Thank you, Amy…”

They lock eyes for a brief moment and Amy smiles gently at him at footed her way out of the forest, feeling content about what she was able to do for him.  

It’s after this event that Shadow grows a little soft spot for Amy.
