Indefatigable-class Star Dreadnought

The Indefatigable-class Star Dreadnought was birthed early into the existence of the First Order. Though it began as only an idea among the high command of the First Order, it blossomed out from them into full designs and concepts of implementation; figuring out the true purpose of this vessel was given as much thought as everything else. Some among the First Order high commanded wanted to see the Indefatigable-class Star Dreadnought serve as more of a symbol of power for the First Order, something which only appeared powerful; a paper tiger. They didn't want to risk wasting time on something that could possibly be destroyed. They were thinking about the past, about the destruction of the Executor at the battle of Endor. Others saw such a vessel as a waste of resources and construction time, proposing instead to increase the size of their Resurgent-class fleet. Most, however, desired to see a continuation of the Executor, a ship which would serve as a weapon to beat their enemies and inspire fear into their enemies across the galaxy.

In the end, the Indefatigable-class Star Dreadnought would be designed as a weapon, and a powerful one at that. In the designs, they made many changes which they hoped would make the ship far less vulnerable. Its designers would do away with the over-complex exterior of the original Executor-class SSD, removing the sprawling cityscape and trenches which could help hide the approach of small vessels, a fact that made its predecessor far too vulnerable to starfighters and bombers. Further, its bridge would be far better protected, buried among the superstructure located toward the aft of the ship. The Indefatigable-class would also feature three redundant bridges scattered throughout the ship to serve as replacements in the event of the main bridge's destruction. And while the Indefatigable-class Star Dreadnought didn't have the same intimidating appearance as its predecessor, it more than made up for it with far increased efficiency and power.

At the conclusion of its design, Supreme Leader Snoke would determine who among his high command would be granted the immense honor of receiving one. The first one to be constructed, however, would be granted to his apprentice, Kylo Ren. He would come to name his flagship the Chapterhouse and would see his personal warship serving as the headquarters for the Knights of Ren. Over the course of the next several years, a handful of other Indefatigable-class Star Dreadnoughts would be constructed and handed over to the most loyal men among Snoke's high command.

A single Indefatigable-class Star Dreadnought was designed to be able to hold down a multi-system war on its own, possessing enough war material, vehicles, and ground troops to conquer several planets in quick succession without stopping. They were also outfitted with the most advanced technology in the field of communication and coordination, as well as analysis, meant to be able to handle massive amounts of information and incoming data. An Indefatigable-class was meant to be able to process material and intelligence from across dozens of warzones at once, while also being able to organize the logistics and support necessary to support such conflicts. This was to grant the star dreadnought the capability to not just wage war, but to organize and coordinate it without any outside assistance.
