Houston, We Have Touch-Down by shadowfire-x Houston, We Have Touch-Down by shadowfire-x
I was trying to slowly sneak up on these four Canada Geese at the park. Sometimes they can be pretty tolerant of humans, but, I was still a fair distance from them when they decided to make a short 'hop' to a narrow strip of open water.

I love the photo - I love the moment that you've captured here! They seem to be skidding along the surface of the water, their talons actually shattering glass as their reflections are disturbed by the landing.

It's a beautiful image, and a wonderful shot. The only thing I might have considered doing differently would have been a panoramic shot instead of a standard one in order to eliminate the excess white skyline at the top of the frame. Even saying that, though, this is a truly wonderful photo. Thank you for sharing it!

Thank you so much for the kind words, and the mention =) This was one of a series of four or five shots I got of them landing, and the way the sun had lit up the lake behind them was just beautiful.
