Hope by shadowfire-x Hope by shadowfire-x
The first time I saw my therapist she gave me this Hope stone. It’s been on my monitor stand for almost three quarters of a year now, and I decided to ‘modify’ it a little so I can take it with me more easily. It is absolutely not for sale.

This one came out really well.

I find it very hard to wrap round/uniform stones/anything round and slippery in your hands.

This one was extremely difficult. I had to make the front and back loops separately, and tie them together at the bottom without the stone in place. The stone was -somewhat- secure when I slipped it back in, and the loops from the bale to the back, and wrapped around the other two wires, keeps it in.

I tried this style and it was difficult for me too.

Difficult, yes, but I think it looks very nice. The stone is still free to turn a little in its cradle, but, I generally have to be doing it on purpose.

When I make a pendant I try hard to get the stone to come out, if it does, I have to revise my design. You never know how someone else will treat it. I don't throw it at the ground, just wiggle and pull on the stone as much and as hard as I can. On almost all of my pendants, the stone will not come out unless you bend the metal. I messed up on one of my newer ones, I forgot to put a prong on one of the sides, so it can come out on that side but only if you pull real hard.

I do that with mine, as well. If a little wiggling or jostling makes the stone come out, I alter the wiring until it won't come out until I purposefully -make- it.

I wish I had the time to comment on each of the pendants you've put up. They're really nice! Keep up the great work. :]

Thanks so much. Honestly, I feel lucky that they came out looking so decent just out of the gate. I did get started off here, though [link] . I used that technique for a few stones, then started winging it.
