Weird Optical Illusion

OK, two things: 1. How have I never noticed this before and;
2. Does anyone else experience this? I just noticed this now where dividing a vertical line in half (putting a dash through it) one half will appear dramatically longer than the other. The more squashed the aspect ratio is the more dramatic the effect. Flipping the line horizontally utterly breaks the illusion. Is my brain just as broken or did I stumble upon a known optical illusion to which I cannot place a name? :lol:

hope you have a really swell day Thanks a lot man. I only just celebrated it yesterday as everything has been helter-skelter. Hopefully things will settle down soon but honestly I think that this might be my least productive year yet as more and more keeps piling on.
