Now I have no clue, so don't ask me, but here are some of my personal 'instant favs', where I saw the shot and instantly faved it. You reading this probabaly will disagree on some, if not all of them but for me each of these shots represent what I aspire to and what I love seeing in other people's work. Not all these photos are perfect prehaps, but thats ok because to me, they have something special that somehow makes me over look technicalities that I usually am very picky about (like sharpness, I love uber sharp shots). To me, they are all shots with soul, and thats something so rare that everything else is almost irrelevent

I've seen the red arrows myself many times, and for me this photo captures their grace, power and precision perfectly.

Maybe I love this shot because its technically flawless, or maybe its because I cannot get a phesant shot like this no matter how hard I try, whatever the reason this is one spectacular picture.

I love this because it transports me both into the excitment of the moment the pic was taken, and because it reminds me of all the great times I've had in similar settings. It makes me happy just by looking at it, but its a photo! Amazing.

So there is my feature. I hope you get what I mean when I say 'Instant fav' and don't think I'm completly crazy, and I'd love to hear about some of your 'instant favs', feel free to post links in the comments. Some of these shots are popular, some of them aren't, but that isn't the point of this feature. Its a tribute to that certain 'je ne sais quoi' (hope I spelt that right) which really gets our attention.
Anyway, enjoy. I am hopefully heading back up north next week to my lil flat in scotland. I say hopefully because the weather and road conditions may be too much for my poor little car to handle, but we'll see. Then it'll be back to the labs and some serious knuckling down for whatever 2010 may bring.
oh, one last thing... the 'somethign that made me smile' this time round... I was practically raised on the land before time
