New science website, re-vamped photography website and Twitter
Hey everyone! While I am managing to get on DA a bit more regularly now, I'm having to focus a lot more attention on my own photography website and a new site about the science I do as part of my job. Public outreach is now so important in science that all researchers are encouraged to make their own websites about their work and blog about what they are doing in the field, lab and what publications they are making. This is taking up a fair amount of my online time, but so far has been very worthwhile and I'm glad that people are getting to read about my adventures with the seals, whales and dolphins that I work with.
We also have a Twitter feed for the science site, which is @KJRScience if you are on that site and would like to follow. (I'm still getting used to twitter as I only joined last weekend. My boss adores it and the lab I work at really likes it too so I gave up resisting and joined, seems weird and complicated to me!)
The science website and blog I now run is here: kellyrobinsonscience.wordpress…
and it currently gets updated weekly with what's happening to us in the field with the grey seals we study. There is lots of information about the behvaioural and physiological research we do on the island with the seals and some fun stuff about what we do in our free time!
My photography website has been greatly expanded and improved (IMO!), and I'm slowly populating it with reviews of all the zoos and wildlife tours that I've been on to share my experiences with people. I'm also going to be writing short articles about photography and all the things I've learnt over the years to help improve my shots. So there should be plenty to look out for, I update it twice a month with new material.
