[DEVIATION] All was quiet as Team Dark made their way from Night Babylon back to Central City. Not a single mech was in sight. Perhaps Omega’s presence at Club Rouge the night before had temporarily deterred any others that remained nearby from attacking them.  Shadow had thought to ask Omega where all of The Doctor's ancient robots kept coming from if their creator was long gone. Sure, even in their time Eggman had constructed hundreds of robot production factories, and there was no doubt that at least a hundred more had been developed before he had died in their future. However, Silver talked of fighting mechs quite frequently, and, just as he always had, it was clear that this version of Omega spent the majority of his time destroying as many of the "lowly consumer models" as he possibly could. Not to mention that there had to be lots of other people who fought the robots as well.  Therefore, it stood to reason that, after roughly a century and a half of being hunted, the

[DEVIATION] One moment, Silver The Hedgehog had been holding onto Shadow and Rouge as the former used Chaos Control in a last ditch effort to teleport them to safety from the crumbled ruins around them. The next, he'd been knocked back into the blinding white light. He'd seen Rouge call to him as she desperately reached out, attempting to grab his hand, and then she and Shadow had vanished entirely within the blazing luminescence.  It had felt as if the light was trying to devour him as he'd fought against the violent power that continued to drag him back. Without warning, as if a switch had been flipped, utter darkness and a deafening hush descended around him, instantly snuffing out the light entirely. Minutes, or perhaps hours, ticked by as the ivory hedgehog drifted within the blackness, deprived of all senses. After what felt like an eternity, an eerie, distorted voice breached the silence, coming from everywhere, and nowhere, all at once. Within the void, it whispered to

[DEVIATION] A doleful silence descended over the dark duo as they trudged through the unnervingly desolate streets of what had once been the most lively part of town. Normally, it would have only taken them a few minutes at most to make the trip from Central City to Night Babylon, but Shadow and Rouge had taken their time crossing the bridge, as well as the suburbs nestled between it and the nightlife district. Still, only about half an hour had passed since they had left the skyscraper.  Neither of them knew what threats lurked in the shadows within this future world. Not to mention that whoever, or more accurately, whatever it was that had left the massive footprints across the bridge was indeed heading in the same direction they were. They were able to deduce that the prints were more than likely those of a robot, though the mud from the previous night’s rain had distorted the specific shape. [DEVIATION] Rouge began to stir as the rumble of approaching thunder echoed around her. Gradually, she became aware of the dull and heavy aching that radiated throughout her entire body. The ground beneath her was soggy and cold, and the bat could feel her dampened clothes clinging to her back. With a groan, she slowly brought a hand to her pounding head and forced herself to open her eyes. At first it was difficult to clearly see anything. Her vision was bleary and unfocused. Rouge rubbed her eyes, then blinked several times until the world around her finally came into focus. The sky above her was an unnatural muddied color, almost as if it had been covered with a sepia filter. She couldn't tell what time of day it was. Thick, angry clouds hid any semblance of sun or moonlight, though it still didn’t seem quite dark enough to be nighttime yet. [DEVIATION] It wasn't difficult for the new couple to immediately spot Silver; not only was his oversized hat a dead giveaway, but a number of other things instantly drew attention to him. He was seated on one of the three wooden piers in a brand new, bright green lawn chair, surrounded by fishing equipment of all kinds. A large, red tackle box was placed beside his chair on one side, and on the other was a cooler to store any fish he caught.  However, what stood out the most wasn't an object at all, but rather another person... a cat, to be specific. Both Shadow and Rouge paused mid-step as they saw him.  "Big...?" They murmured quizzically in unison, though Shadow's tone held more irritation than confusion.  Sure enough, Big The Cat towered next to Silver, Froggy perched upon his shoulder as usual. [DEVIATION] Normally Amy's high-pitched swooning would be grating on both Rouge's nerves and ears, but the sheer shock from the scene that had just played out in front of them seemed to have temporarily muted the bat's hearing.  'Shadow... Flowers...?! WHAT?!' Rouge's eyes were wide, her mouth agape as she stared in the direction that the ebony hedgehog had hastily made his escape. Her mind just kept repeating that same dumbstruck thought in an attempt to make any sense out of what had just happened.  Slowly, her stunned gaze shifted to Silver and she found that his expression mirrored her own. Hell, even Sonic looked genuinely perplexed as Rouge shot a glance his way too. Both men had their eyes on the enormous bouquet that Amy now held.  It seemed the pink hedgehog had surfaced from her "bride-to-be" fantasy, and she was finally registering who had just thrown the flowers in the first place. [DEVIATION] Once Silver had hurried out to catch up to Shadow, Rouge heaved a sigh of relief as she finished loading the dishwasher up. Based on what he had said about her and Shadow's relationship, she couldn't tell if he suspected that they were romantically involved, or if he had simply been showing admiration for their friendship. It was likely the latter, but either way, she did not want to be talking or thinking about her feelings right now.  After cramming the final pan into the dishwasher, she closed the door and tried to start the wash cycle. However, the machine didn't respond. Frowning, she messed with the controls, but couldn't find the issue. "Seriously?" she growled aloud, growing increasingly aggravated as she jabbed at the buttons. "What the hell is wrong with you?" she chided at the appliance irritably. "I can hack the highest level security systems in the world, and yet somehow I can't get this hunk of junk to work?! How does that make any sense?!" Rouge scoffed

[DEVIATION] Shadow blinked slowly as the sunlight illuminated his room more than he would've liked. With a wide yawn and stretch, the ebony hedgehog got out of bed, stepped back into his fire-skates and walked downstairs. 'Was last night some sort of dream? Did I have too much wine? I only had one glass!' Shadow thought to himself as stray memories of yesterday inevitably crept into his mind. Silver showing up out of the blue, both he and Rouge catching him playing his guitar, and of course that kiss Rouge and Shadow had shared. The whole thing felt like a nightmare and yet at the same time, a surreal, if not bad, dream. He sighed; the best thing to do was to probably talk this over with Rouge at some point. For now, thankfully, they had Silver and their tasks for the day to keep them distracted. Once Shadow got downstairs, he was greeted by yet another odd sight. Silver was seated at the counter in the kitchen, with Rouge making things on the stove. Both of them were humming a tune

Rouge was desperately trying to decide how she should explain the impulsive smooch she had just given her best friend. The look on Shadow’s face was making it even more difficult to reply; the frozen shock gave her the impression that a simple peck on the lips had fried his brain for the night. The heavy hush was becoming unbearable. The thief had to say something before she completely lost her nerve. "It was..." the ivory bat finally began to utter, but hesitated as she felt her voice catch in her throat. After inhaling a steadying breath, she forced herself to try again.  "I've wanted to do that all evening," Rouge heard herself bluntly admit to him. Saying it out loud was oddly therapeutic, which gave her the confidence to continue, regardless of how he'd respond. After making such a bold move, it felt pointless to try and continue to cover up the truth now. "Actually, I've wanted to do
