Emerald Nuzlocke 1 - pt. 1 [Revamped]

IMPORTANT This revamped page is not consistent with a good part of the first half of the comic and even though it is nicer to look at and easier to read you should still read the original first page as well so you won't get confused with what happens.

Before you start panicking or accusing me of wasting time or whatnot I'd like you to know a couple of things. These things are the reasons this strip now exists. Sit back, this might get long.

When I started this comic I was crap at doing comics. It hurts my eyes having to go back to check the old pages for references and since I suffer so much from it why should you? 

The very first page isn't very presentable and it probably doesn't give new readers a good picture of the comic. But back then that was, well, not the best I could do but good enough for me. Now it's not. It's not only the art but the storytelling that irks me about the old pages. There are so many dumb things, so many things I would do very differently if I did them now.

So I thought I'd recreate the first page. Only the first page. Because while I really dislike the early pages I don't see any point in recreating it all. It has already been done, the story's been told so now what I really should focus on is progressing in the story. And that's what I aim to do. I am determined to finish this comic, even if it takes me another three years. I have put so much energy and planning into this comic and the best is yet to come so it would be foolish to give up now. Also, I have improved so much while making this comic that I want to keep going and see how good I can get.

The purpose of this page is to offer a promise to new readers. A promise that the comic will eventually be better. Another purpose is to show the improvement. While I changed a few things in this part, mostly for storytelling reasons (and wtf Brendan in a dress, why) it is essentially the same page drawn again. (I had to use a crappier scanner for the latter half of the pages so the latter half of this comic is much grainier. I'm sorry about that but otherwise I would've had to postpone the update with at least another week and I really didn't want to do that.)

Tldr; I won't redo any other pages (unless I hit my head or become crazy or whatever), this is just an alternative for new readers and an improvement comparison...thing.
