I hope we get to see the Wildes in a sequel.

Okay, but we can't assume whether or not Disney makes a sequel, prequel, or midquel to that movie.

Actually, it is safe.
Actors already confirmed that they are cast for Zootopia 2
^--- [Disney didn't actually bust their words, so it's safe to assume they were telling the truth]

I mean, Disney actually already did confirm Z2 back at Z1 conference (by a total accident) but back then it was more like a "Tease".
For now, Disney - according to Actors' words - set the Movie for Early 2019.

Ok, and This is really from Disney's Twitter.
It was said that no matter when [what year] it will be, Zootopia 2 will be a Seuqel.

Sure, but years ago Disney released a sequel to The Rescuers called The Rescuers Down Under, that was the first sequel to any of their full-length animated feature movies. And needless to say, whether or not the sequel does or doesn't come true, I don't ship Nick and Judy as a pairing, ever; but this is just my opinion.

Yeah, I remember that [The Rescuers].
Personally, I don't like "ship" them, too.
I'm just okay if someone does [especially cuz there are a lot of great and pretty arts about it].

Yes. And sometimes sequels and/or prequels aren't nearly as good. Just like there was a sequel to the 1978 musical movie adaptation of Grease and after it was a massive hit, they gained a sequel called Grease 2, but sadly that sequel went below expectations and didn't have the stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John from the prequel. And why less than 1% of Disney movies have cinematic sequels or prequels is probably because they want fresh new ideas rather than some extended timeline of something already existing and then it tends to feel repetitive but also kind of changes the story too much. I do kind of want to plan to see Wreck-It-Ralph: Ralph Breaks the Internet, but it probably to me won't be as good as the first one and I feel the first one which I enjoyed already had a pretty happy ending to end a story, but sorry to spoil it for some people whom have never seen the first W-I-R. Sometimes sequels or prequels or midquels are better left to fan fiction and stuff. Plus budgets to making new movies are a lot higher today than they were then, and they can't always be spending money making prequels or sequels to something already in existence when they could come up with jillions of new ideas from scratch.

I think it's safe to assume they are, since the movie was a huge success and made over a billion.

Yes, but just because it's popular doesn't always mean the studios will make a sequel, prequel, or midquel. We only leave it to the studios to decide whether or not to make a sequel, prequel, or whatever. Zootopia was the fad back when it was new.

Just like years ago, there were intentions to make a sequel to the 2007 Hairspray movie due to its massive success and that it had a huge fanbase (way more than the original 1988 screenplay and the 2002 Broadway musical), but then they scrapped it because John Travolta (who played Edna Turnblad) wasn't going to return and they couldn't find anyone to take his place.

Also, no matter how popular a fanbase is, people just need to shut up about this sequel, prequel, midquel drama.

There are rumors that we will meet Nick's family in the Sequel
Some of the actors said - by an accident - that there are more Fox Characters in Zootopia 2.
Fail-Seeker's avatar
Think they would get along with Judy's family? :)

Most likely Yes.
I mean, there could be a problem with Judy's father, obviously :P

You sure? They work with Gideon now, right?
AlanNights2013's avatar
AlanNights2013Student Digital Artist
Yeah, but I guess he is ok only with Gideon cuz he knows him.
Disney knows how he could "react" to another Fox. :P

He literally doesn't know who Nick is, so yeah.
