A Jabaloronte is a type of mythical being or legendary creature in Aiers, often described as that they look like big or boar beast men, who stand in their hind legs and have developed hands, in a manner similar to minotaurs and other creatures.

The boar or pig-men where presented in the myths of many of the beast-peoples, specially in the stories of the Loranor Hunters, who say that there was once a beast-men, avatar spirit of each animal of Aiers, but that the Loranor Great Hunters have hunted them down, and only few remained... but who will be as well hunted down by the Great Hunters.

However, aside among the Beast-men, the Boar-men will make an apparition as well among the myths of elves, who described creatures with snouts, tusks and repulsive habits: however some scholars instead believe that these legends, rather than to descrive a later extinct race of boar-men, may be collecting oral traditions of what would be the first encouters of the elves and with the proto-orcs in prehistory: having faced until then only as other peoples beast-men, it is supposed they identified orcs with boars.

The Jabalorontes where supposedly to be harmful and destructive creatures, primal natural forces with a temper, ambitious, bloodthirsty and treacherous, being spirits of evil.

However, as they appeared in many relates, some suggested they where historical people, either extincted or not very numerous, but in later ages was in general disregarded their existence.

Only after the Apparition of Demons, and during the Early Dark Legion, some demon lords will shape some of their demon soldiers -cascomi, skavos, imps and so- after animal-creatures and creatures of legends. Then, there will be demon servers fashioned after boars -and the mythical Jabalorontes-, among the early Dark Legion.

Because of these sightings, some concluded that there existed indeed the natural Jabaloronte, meanwhile others decided to classify them instead as demons.

"At some point, duirng my "furry phase" -I would think, almost every artist had at least once a furry phase-, I added a lot of anthros to Aiers.

Catpeople, dogpeople, catpeople, goatpeople, monkeypeople, deerpeople, gnolls, Minotaurs and so, and so, and so on.

Later, while I have gladly adopted some of them -or rather, they keept their place in my world-, several of them remained on the doubt:

I still wonder: Shall I make them Peoples of Aiers? Or instead, leave them just as mythological beings?

Some of the ones in the list are the Gorilay Monkey people, the Rinohk rhino people, the Jabaloronte boar/pig-people and the Shervos, deer people.

What to do, I wonder? What is YOU opinion in this regard?"
