SUPER GALAXY PRINCESS ALLIANCE(or Super Galaxy Protector Alliance for those of you too macho/insecure lol)
Inspired by the Young Justice animated series => www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_show…
This is a group for OCs (original characters) and FCs (fan characters) of all superhero or supervillain types!
Do not be fooled by the extra awesome group name. We accept males, females, plants, and whatever kind of hero you are!
You can also be a villain if you don't mind being beat up by awesome people!
Your character doesn't necessarily have to interact with the Young Justice or DC universe. It will just "make more sense" that way. The point is to have fun!
This group is mainly artwork-based, but we also accept writing in as well. We don't accept pure fanart unless it involves a character that is part of this group.
This group is not specifically for Role-Playing (RPing), but a lot of members do so with each other anyway! Feel free to interact on profiles, with pictures, through notes, in the SGPA chat room, or specifically at the new and shiny SGPA FORUM!
To fight for justice!
To fight for bragging rights!
To eat tasty food!
To meet and be awesome people!

JOINING THE ALLIANCE!
WHO CAN JOIN?
Anyone can join and be a member! Just click on the JOIN button!
You "SPONSOR" your characters on their behalf to join the group. You can sponsor yourself as a character too. You, the creator, are generally separate from your characters. So don't confuse yourself!
Sponsored characters whether actually in the SGPA or in their own self-named group are approved as long as it's not spam! We do not do in-depth character reviews and critiques because we are refraining from being judgmental jerks (which, rest assured, WE CAN BE VERY JUDGMENTAL AND HARSH AND THERE WOULD BE BLOOD AND TEARS IF WE ALLOWED OURSELVES THE LUXURY! Regulation from us is a double-edged sword!).
All we do is provide a structured profile for people to stay within power boundaries.
Please fill out a character profile template and text profile (found in the Featured folder) for each sponsored character you are submitting. NPCs are minor characters somehow related to your hero or villain (could be a mentor, family, rival, etc.). You can keep those profiles brief.
CHECK OUT THIS WIKI PAGE FOR TEMPLATE INFO:
=> SGPA TEMPLATES
TEXT PROFILE: fav.me/d3dc7ki
Copy & Paste this into your character's image description and fill it out! The more details the better, since it will help others understand your character better or draw fanart of them!
TYPE OF CHARACTER:
Any hero or villain character type welcome: male, female, LGBTQ, plant, animal, alien.. whatever! Target main character ages are 13-19 years old (teens!), but they can be much older or younger if they are meant to act as NPCs, mentors, or lackeys to the main characters.
Try not to submit overpowered characters who are at the point of invincibility and boringness. We want some epic, suspense-filled battles! With any luck, the heroes will win the day and the villains will just slink away back into darkness! The new templates we have will help guide you in this area.
HOW MANY CHARACTERS TO SPONSOR:
You can submit as many characters as you like, but remember, we expect you to be active with each one of them in some way! We may ask for your character to show up in a huge collab or participate in some kind of contest. Don't make more than you can handle! Some people have ONE. Some people have 5. The founder has more than 10. ONLY SPONSOR THE NUMBER YOU CAN HANDLE.
TYPE OF WORK AND SUBMISSIONS:
We accept all types of creative works here (illustrations, sculptures, 3D, photos, stories, poems, etc.), although the largest emphasis will be on illustrations. All art submitted should be related to your OC (original character) / FC (fan character), characters in the SGPA, or the SGPA in some way. We don't accept pure fanart that does not involve the SGPA and the characters sponsored into it.
FANON AND CANON:
When crossing over into fan universes, especially with fan-pairings or pairing FCs with canon characters, try to keep everyone in character. Respecting each character is key! We won't try to police people about it, and heck, we know how convoluted or crazy some stories are, but TRY not to go too far out there.
We like "hotness" and "badassery" of all levels, so feel free to submit more risque or violent images! Just make sure to mark them as mature (like if it's super erotic/pornographic or really grotesque gore) so you don't scar more sensitive members for life! This means slash, girl-girl/guy-guy, tomfoolery, and whatsits are pretty much accepted as long as it's not spam.
DON'T BE A JERKFACE:
Obviously, don't be a jerkface! While your characters may express laughable beliefs or intentions with the greatest convictions (especially you villains, you~!), SPONSORS are under much greater scrutiny. We do not tolerate hateful behaviour from racism, sexism, homophobia, bigotry, trollery, etc. within our pages. This includes pages of any artwork submitted. We don't want to see it, so if we do.. *shakes fist!*
SPECIFIC SUBMISSION GUIDELINES=========================================
Submitting CHARACTER PROFILES will now be stricter since we have so many members and will be going through older profiles to get them up to date and up to par (clean text, proper formatting, filled). Please read and follow the rules laid out below:
IMPROPERLY FORMATTED AND FILLED PROFILES WILL BE REJECTED:
New submissions from people will be rejected outright if merit catches sight of it and it's filled incorrectly and makes her eyes bleed. OR if you are lucky and Meibatsu allows it into the "Profiles and Refs" folder, it will sit there until corrections are made. If corrections are not made in a timely manner (a week or so), the profile will be removed. The character will not be listed until the profile is filled out competently. WE ARE SERIOUS, FOLKS!
FOLLOW THE EXAMPLES:
For reference, profiles need to look clean such as the following:
The TEXT PROFILE must also be filled out and put in the DESCRIPTION of the image.

=> DETAILED TUTORIAL FOR HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP WITH TEMPLATES
=> TEMPLATE WIZARD HELP FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT PHOTOSHOP
ID# AND TEAM# INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU:
When you have your character join, you will be given an ID# based on whether they are a HERO (GA###), VILLAIN (GR###), or NPC (GN###). Please update your profiles with this number. People who submit Template Wizard Help Forms will be assigned numbers as well (the admin will tell the person helping you what the # will be).
Your character can also join a team. You can see the teams on this page. You can also decide to start your own team if there are enough spaced available. Please contact the team leader to join the team. The Hero Team list is here: sgpa.deviantart.com/blog/44142…
Villains right now do not have teams, so you can leave that blank for now.
MAKE EVERYONE LOOK GOOD INCLUDING YOURSELF:
We are not here to make you feel bad or to design your characters for you. We just want the profiles to look good and be consistent with all the other ones to foster a sense of community and equal respect among members.
As for other submissions (contest entries, comics, artwork, writing, memes & works in progress), they will be held in the general folder after being submitted until they get moved into the proper folders by the admin. All art submitted should be related to your OC (original character) / FC (fan character), characters in the SGPA, or the SGPA in some way. We don't accept pure fanart that does not involve the SGPA and the characters sponsored into it.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE GALLERY, PLEASE CHECK THE GALLERY DIRECTORY:
Gallery Directory sgpa.deviantart.com/blog/46243…
Members are what you become when you first join. The ONLY place you can submit to are the "Profiles and Refs" folder and any group-wide activity (like voting or gift exchanges). You are at this level until you can submit a good first profile. You also get "DEMOTED" to a Member from Active Sponsor when you don't follow group rules or have not completed your part of a deal (like a gift exchange).
Active Sponsors are people who have an approved character profile.
All images and writing submitted are subject to an approval process. Active Sponsors can also submit affiliation requests. Active Sponsors currently can't submit into the Featured or SGPA 4 Koma folders. Active Sponsors may submit 1 topic per week into the Picture Conversations folder, which may be chosen to be featured as a journal entry. Topics are subject to review.
Contributors are Active Sponsors who have more 3 or more approved character profiles and a number of quality images in the gallery.
They can submit unlimited images/items into most folders. All contributions are automatically approved, except for submissions into the "Profiles and Refs" folder. Contributors also have access to the SGPA Back Room (admin area) to discuss group stuff. Contributors can submit affiliation requests. Contributors may submit 1 topic per week into the Picture Conversations folder, which may be chosen to be featured as a journal entry. Topics are subject to review. Contributors have a new ability to be able to accept or reject images into certain folders.
If you can't figure out where your submission should go, put it into the Miscellaneous folder and the staff will sort it out for you!
LEVEL UP FROM MEMBER TO ACTIVE SPONSOR!
Read all the tutorials and get your character in a good profile! If you were demoted, you must either show good behavior or finish your part of a deal, like a gift. The Founder and Co-Founder will decide if you deserve to become an Active Sponsor.
LEVEL UP FROM ACTIVE SPONSOR TO CONTRIBUTOR!
Stick around for a while and be active! Submit 3 quality Characters Profiles, and 1 quality image each in Civilian Concepts, Fighting Together - group, and Crossover Romance! That's at least 6 quality images in total! It's up to the Founder and Co-Founder to decide if what you have submitted are quality, but we'll give you a fair shake! Just keep doing your thing!
They are the founder and moderators! They are the ones who accept or reject profile things! Of course, if the group gets too big, more responsibilities will be handed to those who are willing! We are expecting to make a couple of Overseers and Template Wizards!
If you feel you can handle more responsibility, and have shown good judgement, you can apply to become an Overseer! Overseers are moderators that can add and edit a lot of the gallery content, liking moving things into the correct folder. You can submit directly into most folders you want instead of waiting for approval. Overseers also vote on what content to be let into the galleries and will be whipping people to correct their profiles.
Template Wizards help those who have very lacking Photoshop skills or do not have access to Photoshop so they can fill out their templates and profiles correctly! This also includes going back to old profiles and getting them up to standard! You must have good Photoshop knowledge and actually have Photoshop on your computer to deal with text layers and .psd files.
OTHER COOL THINGS=========================================
NEW CHARACTERS GET PERKS!
Joining the group will get a cameo in the SGPA 4 Koma gag comics! You first need to fill in a profile with some kind of background story AND civilian clothing (or some other scene with your character coloured in!). Make sure you have your character in a new profile!
PROMOTING OUR AWESOMENESS!
From time to time, there will be collaboration images and projects created to promote our collective awesomeness! SolarCat and SugarSpaceBunny will be heading to artsy conventions and will probably be showing off some SGPA stuff! We'd love to have you join us or contribute ideas to that! Even add to our wiki at THE SGPA WIKI !
Collaborate freely amongst each other! We love seeing everyone interact with each other! Merging storylines, joint comics, collab images, chatting, RPing.. even love triangles (it's inevitable! We can't ALL have Superboy.. haha!)! Keep the fun coming!
JOIN THE FORUM AND RP OUT DISCUSS!
If you are feeling somewhat limited by the DeviantArt commenting system or rules concerning mature content or group privacy, you can join the SGPA FORUM and try to have something more in depth or even a better place to role-play!
Something that shows effort, creativity, and motivation for awesome! Don't worry, we know that everyone's at a different skill level, and all are welcome to give it a go and have fun! We just don't want to see spamloads of low-effort material.
BASES AND DOLLS:
We allow bases and dolls, but we always encourage members to put effort into their work and transition to doing original work. Just to remain fair though, bases or dolls are only allowed in contests if they have been altered significantly. That means clothes, hair, and facial features should be changed (yes, that also means eye, nose, eyebrow, and mouth SHAPE needs to be changed, not just the colour!).
MARY-SUES/GARY-STUS & SELF-INSERTS:
Whatever~! If your character comes off as incredibly overpowered, self-entitled, annoying, or is just a huge mess, know that other characters may very well mock them for it or just plain ignore them and not want to interact with them at all! No harm, no foul! Same goes if YOU are your sponsored character.
We all like seeing characters grow and progress over time! Everyone wants to be the very best, but it's how they got there that matters. You can wing it as you go or plan how they will develop/"level up" over time. Feel free to show it!
MORE OPINIONS ON CHARACTER CREATION:
Here's what Meibatsu's character creation process is kind of like. Maybe it will help you think of how to make your characters more compelling and fun for you to draw and interact with! All in her opinion of course. Your mileage may vary on how much you will get out of it. XD There is no "right" or "wrong" way to really make a character after all! It's the end result that matters!
We are not here to criticize each others' abilities as character creators, so don't create unnecessary DA drama if you can help it. If there's something wrong with someone's character as a person, let your own character do the confrontation! Let them talk it out.. or whisper behind their back... in picture form! Give CONSTRUCTIVE CRITIQUES. And if a person doesn't want critiques, then BACK OFF.
INTERNET IS "SERIOUS BUSINESS":
This is a fun group where characters can interact and collaborate together hero-to-hero, villain-to-villain, or hero-to-villain. Due to this, who knows what drama will go down between them, but the important thing to remember is to not take it too personally. Your babies will take care of themselves without your fretting! You know yourself and your own character. Do the right thing! And not that I can stop DA drama.. so feel free to pursue that outside of the SGPA pages! xD
