Marie and her mother had just walked in on a young man putting together a flat pack bookcase, while what appeared to be an equally young girl watching him, but all was not what it seemed.
"Is that you Alan?" she asked, recognizing the teenager who was her son Kevin best friend, he was putting together a bookcase that she had ordered the week before.
"Yes it is Mrs. Price," he answered,
"Ok You can go" she said a little harshly but because of what she saw was understandable.
As Alan scurried away Kevin was trying to make his way upstairs, "Oh no you dont young lady, you sit right there till we get to the bottom of this" said his mother unknowingly talking to her son, but by no stretch of the imagination did he look like the boy she had left this morning.
"Shes wearing my clothes mom!!!!" came the reaction from Marie
"Can you explain yourself young lady?"
"Its me mom, its Kevin." He finally managed to say
The two women turned to look at each other, with two very different reactions, his mother just stared in amazement as she began to see her son in the girls eyes.
After a few seconds Marie saw it too, but began to laugh so hard she cried tears instead.
Then a minute later they both let out the same word....
"Can you explain whats going on here Kevin?" Asked his mom.
His answer came as quite the surprise, "Yes I can, its just not fair mom, girls get all the attention, everytime I do thing like this people are nice to me."
What do you mean "Everytime?" just how many times have you done this?"
Kevin realized he had let his mouth get ahead of his brain.
"Well not a lot" he answered under his breath.
Marie and her mother looked at each, Kevin saw what looked like an evil grin.
"So you think girls get things easily?" Asked Marie
"Well not "Easily" said Kevin, but definitely easier"
Again that look between them.
"Get your coat Marie, looks like we will have to make another trip into town," Marie grabbed her coat looking quite happy, which was unusual for her, she didnt like to go to town twice in a day, "I guess I should get changed too" said Kevin,
"Oh no" said his mom, "That wont be necessary"
"But Mom I cant go out like this"
"Oh yes you can missy, its easy being a girl remember,
But you are going to find out just how hard it can really be"
"Now come along"--- "What was your name again, "Sara" was it"
Kevin started making his way to the door, trying to wobble in the heels, so it would look like he couldnt walk in them, but his mother was onto his trick, "I saw you walk quite well in those heels when you wanted Alan, your best friend by the way, to do the job I asked you to do, so you can cut out the play acting" she said.
"Where are we going?" asked a very scared Kevin.
"We're going were the girls go Kevin so get used to it."
