We interrupt this blog, to bring you this special Public Service Announcement
, from our fairy special guest. Take it away Mimi.
It has come to our attention that your humans love drawing themes: Stan-uary (Stan Lee memorial), Ink-tober (Ink October), Gore-tober, special monthly theme challenges for Iron Artists, holidays (Christmas), June-icon (Unicorns), days set aside for Drawing a Centaur. You even have two these events for those sirens: Mer-May and Mermaid Monday. [What do those scaly bottom fish girls have that we don't? ahem - sorry]
Therefore, the fairy queens have decided that if unicorns and mermaids get a whole month, we deserve a month too.
Henceforth, by unanimous Royal Decree of Queens Titania, Tanaquill, Mab and Gloriana, the month of February shall now be known as Fae-bruary, with all artist encouraged to draw pictures of the winged faerie.
We shall look forward to seeing 30
(whispher - umm Mimi
I mean Fae-bruary only has 28 days. What?!! Well, then take some from March. They'll never notice. Oh right we're on the air - sorry) We look forward to seeing at least 28 depictions of us, but we won't object to seeing more. OK or even just a few. (spoilsport)
Thank you Mimi for that exciting announcement and artistic challenge. We now return you to your regular drawing and DA browsing, already in progress.
Late breaking news:
US National Confectioners Association (as endorsed by the Faerie royal council), has decreed February 19th as National Chocolate Mint Day
. This holiday has been set aside for all the chocolate mint lovers to eat their favorite treats all day long.
