Description

All of the plush sewing patterns I have available for free (sewdesune.deviantart.com/galle…) and for sale (www.etsy.com/shop/CholyKnight?…) assume you have basic sewing knowledge. But I get so many beginning sewers trying out my patterns it only seems fair to create more tutorials on sewing basics -- particularly for plushies. So that's what this is

This first one covers some of the major fabrics used to make plush toys and how they stack up against each other. I personally prefer fleece and minky, and you can see where I buy them here:

FAQ - Fabric Suppliers and ToolsI always try to answer all questions I receive as thoroughly as I can, but I thought I would write up a FAQ to really get in depth tell people everything I know. Hopefully this infographic shows why I make the fabric choices I do and help you make better decisions as well!I'll try to keep this updated as things change, so feel free to posit more questions! ♥
Where do you get your fabrics?
Lots of places! So let me break it down for you:
PLUSH FABRICS:
• JoAnn Fabrics – If I’m making something simple I’m fine with getting their Blizzard Fleece or Anti-pill fleece. I also like their Ultra Fluffy Fabric. It’s like a cross between fleece and minky – a little thicker and stretchier but very soft. I think it’s great for making pillows and larger stuffed animals.
• Hancock Fabrics – Again, I like them for their Polar fleece and Anti-pill fleece.
• Fabric.com – I go here
Of course it's not the end-all-be-all on this topic, but a lot of people were interested in how I specifically do things so I thought this was a good of a place to start as any!
Edit:
Wow! Thank you so much for the DD!
