OK, so you have a sack of empty medicine bottles. The drug store won't recycle them. So what can you do with'em?

Well, you can make a cat "feeder toy". You've probably seen these things in pet stores. The way they work is this: there's dry cat food ("kibble") inside the toy. The food will come out eventually, but the cat has to bat the container around for a few minutes to work the food through a simple maze--usually a long spiral-- inside the container. Meanwhile, the scent of the food wafts out through the lid and the opening in the bottom.

You can see some commercial custom-made cat feeder toys here: www.google.com/search?site=&tb…

Two notes of caution:
1) Keep the kibble dry or replace it periodically. You don't want to be feeding old mold to your itty bitty kitty.
2) Check the bottle periodically. What you're looking for is signs that the cat may be chewing the plastic bottle, and possibly swallowing sharp shards. If that happens, retire the toy.
