Partridges in a pear tree, perhaps?
This tessellation is based on equilateral triangles. Can you see the points formed at the intersection of 6 birds' beaks, and the hexagons formed by each ring of branches?

Note that this isn't made from a single tile shape repeated. If I'd done that, then wherever branches meet there would be an uncomfortably large triangular wooden knot. Instead, I modified 1/3 of the tiles: I made the leaves stem from a fork in the branches. All other leaves stem from the branches nearest to birds' tailfeathers.
