Hello everyone who reads this,

I've been away for a while on here (again). I've been a little bit more busy than I expected this year, but that's not a bad thing.
First exciting thing, I've been illustrating a friends book! It is a short children's book about a gnome named Norm. So, that's almost finished. I'll see when it's done if it will be available to buy on the internet (if it is, I will post about it).
The other exciting thing that is taking up most of my time is that I am training a service dog! When I say training I really mean socializing and basic training, I'm not qualified to do advanced training. I'm raising her for Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that raises and trains labs and golden retrievers as service dogs for people with disabilities (usually in wheelchairs). I'll have her for about a year and a half. She is a 3 months old now and very cute and pretty well behaved.
Ok... I was going to put a photo of Lexus (the puppy) here but I'm not sure how to do that any more, so I'll just post one as a deviation.
I hope everyone is well and having a good year.

Hello all!

I hope all of you have had a good 2012 so far.
I've been meaning to feature some people, and I felt the need to update my journal, so here ya go!
These people I feel deserve some (more) attention because their art is so fantastic and they are really cool people as well.

First, :iconpatchyhero: And I'm not just featuring him because he's my brother. He's an awesome artist whom I think deserves more recognition.
Gandalf and Bilbo by patchyhero   Amphibious Heart by patchyhero

Second, :iconkingscrest13: because she is an amazing friend and a boss at shading and coloring.
Flight- Hikari by Kingscrest13   evening breeze by Kingscrest13

Third, :iconxcinnx: because he always has something nice to say and has a really imaginative eye for art.
Number 7 Sylvester McCoy by xCINNx   Hearts Newly Arrived by xCINNx

Fourth, :iconelephantblue: because her art is so colorful and bright and her comic always brightens my day.
Commission: Trust me, I'm the Blowfish by elephantblue   Snap Crackle Pop 238 by elephantblue

Well, that's all for now. Have any suggestions for anybody else I could feature? If so, just leave your suggestion in the comments!

Hello all!
I thought I'd give you a list of what makes me happy right now.

This month I am into:
-knit gloves
-homemade pies
-homemade bread (fresh out of the oven!)
-colorful leaves
-that lovely crisp Autumn feel
-my cooking class
-dancing!! (specifically tap)
-old movies (Chaplin, Keaton, etc.)
-Halloween related movies that are not terribly scary (Addams Family, anyone?)
-older British comedies (when am I not into these?)
-dogs (rescued, and in general)
-thinking of Halloween costumes (pretty much got this decided)

Pretty much a bunch of Autumn related things. =)

What are YOU going to be for Halloween? If nothing (boo!), then tell me a past Halloween costume!
(Let's see if anyone actually comments ;) )

Ok, I haven't posted a new journal on here for a while.
Well, what's new?

I've decided to start a list of stuff I need to work on in drawing:

1. backgrounds.

2. People interacting.

3. Perspective.

4. Buildings.

5. Cars.

6. Hair.

7. Lot's of different expressions.

8. Poses.

9. Actually finishing things I start.

10. Loads more stuff.

I get in these moods where I feel that I can't draw at all, but then I remind myself that it just takes practice.

note me

New favorite show? Ok, next to "Doctor Who" of course.
I just watched the first episode of "Sherlock" a modern rendition of "Sherlock Holmes" with Benedict Cumberbatch (!) and Martin Freeman (yay!) as Holmes and Watson. While it is rather odd to hear Holmes talking about texting and other modern things I feel they did a really good job of sticking to the feel of the old Sherlock Holmes books/movies.
One thing: Anybody else think that Benedict (Sherlock) looks very much like Neil Gaiman's Sandman (Dream) character? At least in this show. I could not stop thinking that while watching him. In some scenes the resemblence is not much, but in some of the darker lit scenes I was practically jumping out of my seat because I saw such a strong resemblence to the character of Dream. Might just be me though. =)
Well, it's laaaaate, should have gotten to bed ages ago but I stayed up and drew Sherlock instead. ;)

Bleh, good night!
