Every award is based upon what has been released between the dates of November 10, 2012 (AKA, the start of Season Three) and October 31, 2013. It may have been started before then, but the date that it is published is what counts. An individual is nominated for their work during that time while a work can only be nominated if it was released then. For every 'New (insert award name here),' the individual must not have created anything pony related before November 10, 2012. However, being a fan before then is fine. A staff member, with the exception of the staff member award and Best Fan award, cannot be given an award for their work on the show itself. An individual may earn up to three awards, but they may also choose to decline any award. In that instance, the award will go to the second place winner.
For the Musician category, one may earn the award for any contribution to the Pony Fandom by use of music. This includes, but is not limited to, original pieces, remixes, DJ'ing at events, and pony radio hosts.
For the Artist Category, one may earn the award for any contribution to the pony fandom for art with the exception of the following: music, artisan crafts, plushies, animation, cosplay, and writing. All art must be suitable for children or teens, or have a mature content warning. An artist with 51% of their gallery with mature content warnings will not be accepted.
For the Artisan Crafts/Plushies Category, one may earn the award for any contribution to the pony fandom for Artisan Crafts and/or Plushies. All crafts must be suitable for children.
For the Authoring category, one may earn the award for any contribution to the pony fandom for writing. This does not include creating title covers for a story. Additionally, the author must have 51% of his or her gallery be of a teen or everyone rating to qualify.

To nominate someone/something for an award, send your nomination to Ponyawards@gmail.com with the subject line NOMINATION or send a note to Serenawyr with the same subject line. Each person can only nominate once for each award, so make sure it is who/what you want. Links are greatly appreciated. All nominations are due by November 1, 2013. After a short while of tallying the nominations, the polls will open up and then close on January 4. Then, on January 5th, the results will be released!
Voting will be opened shortly after November 1st to decide who actually gets the prizes. Currently, this is the Nomination Stage. An update will be released on where to vote.
Currently, the prizes are waiting to be determined. The most obvious prize would be the recognition in the community as the community picked best _____. Possible prizes include but are not limited to features, the fame from getting the award, signed merchandise from the staff, etc. If anyone would like to donate prizes, please send the information to Ponyawards@gmail.com with the subject line DONATION or send a note to Serenawyr with the same subject line. Everything counts, be it artists donating commissions or merchandise. If money is donated to buy prizes, any leftovers will be given to the Brony Thank You Fund.
Any questions about this can be sent to Ponyawards@gmail.com with the subject line QUESTION or send a note to Serenawyr with the same subject line. I will do my best to answer any questions that you may have. I will read every single email and reply, even if it takes me a while. And yes, you can nominate yourself. But not everyone who is nominated will end up in the final polls, it will be on an X number of people who received the most nominations.
