Literature Text

The day is long
and his body worn
Old ears reach out
to the hissing of the sun
As it touches the sea
He remembers, He believes
that the way was right
though the day is long

All questions now
No more than sand
All regrets have slipped
His shrunken hands
Though her face is blurred
Through the cloud of memory
Her name still slakes him
Like water

As it was then
It can never be now
But on the roads of a dream
Things past are again somehow

Feet are bound
With hope and pain
They're all worn out
His mouth, his name
Sun rise and set
His heart forgives
But can't forget
A life not lived

As it was then
It can never be today
But on the path of your memory
Now is yesterday

He has loved
and will love again
He has lost and will lose again
His heart is true and his soul is pure
But he can't endure the question
If only...
If only...
A collaboration of old. He picked up where I left off and this was born.
