Want to be noticed? Each week I'll be doing a promotions journal.
What exactly is this you ask? Well. It's for you guys. Want a contest promoted? Want a few of your deviations on display for a week? Have a new group you want people to check out? Any of this. You can also promote OTHER peoples stuff as well
Please NOTE me what you want promoted in the journal. ( Please label it "Promotions")
If you want deviations promoted, please only 3 or less
Feel free to note me users or user deviations that you think need more exposure
I'll start off the week with a few deviations I'd like to promote
Celebrating Deviousness - January 2015
In Recognition of Exemplary Membership and an Outstanding Spirit of helpfulness and mentoring within the DeviantArt community.
Hi everyone! I'm Jade, better known around DeviantArt as Aeirmid. I chose my username because Aermid (or Airmid) is an Irish goddess of health and healing, and I wanted to pay tribute to her because I have dedicated my life to promoting mental and physical health in others. In fact, I'm just finishing up a PhD program in public health. In March, I will celebrate 10 amazing years on DeviantArt. Although I started my journey as a photographer, I quickly became enthralled with photomanipulation and worked hard to develop some skills. I chose my original name on DA, SanguineVamp, because I loved all sorts of dark and Gothic work. I still do. Still, I had a hard time creating dark art because my attempts at blood and gore always somehow magically evolved

Tag Pages: What You Need To KnowThe following journal applies to deviants who have access to our new tags feature that was launched to a small test audience last week. If you received the following Hot Topic in your Message Center, you likely have access to tags. If you didn’t receive the following Hot Topic, you likely don’t have access at this time. Sit tight, as we’ll be rolling out the release to a wider audience soon!
Tags are our new way to label and create conversations around a topic. Tags can be used everywhere — in Status Updates, Collections, comments, deviation descriptions, or Journals. When clicked, you’ll discover a tag page full of content and activity around the topic.
As someone in the test audience for tags, you’re among the first to see the beginnings of our tag system and we’d appreciate your feedback -- both in terms of what you think so far, and where’d you’d like to see things go in the future.

The Floor is Open - Update and SummaryUpdate:
I enjoyed this conversation with you guys a whole lot. It gave me an opportunity to say a lot of stuff I've been meaning to. If you stumble into this post from July 2015, it contains a nice snapshot of where the communities politics were at, and what insights I had to provide for members.
Thank you guys for being civil, and feel free to link people to these answers:

Pageviews Now Include All Profile Sections
As of today, we've updated the way Profile pageviews are counted for deviants and Groups.
Many years ago, we expanded the pageview counter to include not just the front page of your Profile, but also the Journals tab and the Prints tab (but not individual Journals or Prints). We mistakenly never expanded the count to other areas of the Profile.
This has been inconsistent for quite some time and we haven’t been transparent about what exactly this counter included.
Starting today, the pageview counter will begin including pageviews to all sections of your Profile, including:
Gallery and Gallery FoldersFavourites and CollectionsOther profile subpages: Activity, Badges, Daily Deviations, Critiques, Gallery Stats, Polls, Wishlist
We felt that it was important to fix this inconsistency to properly reflect traffic to all deviants’ Profiles. If an artist gets a lot of traffic to their Prints shop, this should be reflected in the same way i
Encouraging New Deviant EngagementReceiving comments on your deviations can be one of the most rewarding aspects of DeviantArt. The moment you make the decision to share your art with the world, you're ready to connect with kindred spirits, hear their tips, and share feedback of your own. The cycle is rewarding for each and every participant.
Starting today, we’re running a few experiments that aim to bring attention to new and undiscovered deviants on DeviantArt. When such a deviant submits a deviation, he or she will be shown suggested deviations and prompted to leave a comment. The purpose of this project is to create bonds between new deviants and help people find similar artists to grow with.
This feature is experimental, and we’re testing to see how something like this helps deviants grow as an artist and meet new people.
Share your thoughts!
Have you been prompted to comment on deviations from fellow deviants?

Happy 15th Birthday! In April I wrote a post reflecting on my 15 years at DeviantArt, since the project began in April of 2000 and was launched to the public on August 7th. I went back and re-read what I wrote, and wow, speaking of audacious I'm pretty hardcore in this post. I write from my heart sometimes and then I hit post and that's that. So for our official 15th Birthday I wanted to re-share a link to that post:
And then today, I wrote this reflection for you as a toast & thanks for all the llamas:
Happy 15th Birthday DeviantArt! We are evolving, and soon we will be able to share exactly how you can be a part of our transformation, ensuring that the DeviantArt we all love grows stronger in supporting the visual & written arts for 15 more years to come! You will soon see us release many years of effort, repositioning DeviantArt from all we have learned over our 15 years of managing the worlds largest creator community.
Thank you for all of your support over the
New Username Symbols: Extended ThoughtsTwo weeks ago, we released two new products – deviant and art Mentions and new username symbols. Gratefully, and as we'd hoped, many deviants are embracing these changes in exactly the ways we'd anticipated, and the ways we ourselves did over the past several months of testing. While some deviants embraced the changes, it's fair to say that others have felt surprise, curiosity, and maybe even shock. These feelings are totally normal, but for the large part, there's a hope present. A positive outlook. The first steps in a new era that makes the way for our goals in the future, and, at the same time, removes clutter and confusion that new deviants often experience.
As with any change, there are a handful of deviants that don't understand why we made the choices we did &

When art news happens around the world, deviant artists are among the first to respond in the most evocative ways possible. We're proud to unveil the Today page — the new human and dynamically powered newspaper for the community that reflects the stories inside of deviantART as they pertain to art, fandom, pop culture, and world culture.
Designed to showcase a variety of content — including editorial pieces, Journals, contests, and even deviants new to the site, the Today page will reflect the undercurrent of what's happening now — both online and off.
The Today page will improve the accessibility of various areas on devian

Tags are the new KeywordsKeywords on deviations were built to be an important tool to help discover artwork. But as deviantART grows and strives to create new ways to discover great content, we’ve found that keywords as we currently use them have become underutilized. We think we can do better -- and can make a better experience for the community -- by making some changes.
In the coming month, keywords will transition into tags, and we’ll be improving the way they work. Tags will better surface artwork, allow deviants to form communities around topics, make it easier to find other artists and art appreciators, and increase discoverability.
For example, if you're a fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles it can be difficult to know what to search for: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ninja Turtles, TMNT, Donatello, etc. Public tags provide visibility to see how others are tagging their deviations, which will allow you to align your behavior to the norm, or ch
