This is the cover art for comicstrip "Ubunchu!", which I wrote for a magazine featuring Ubuntu Linux OS. Yes, Here in Japan, magazines full of high-tech knowledges are also full of comic strips as well. Thanx!

Thinking if i should get the penguin or the club president if I bring Nanami Madobe as a chibi enamel pin (I'm a Windows/Linux user)

I remember seeing this a couple years ago around the time I first started using Ubuntu and it's such a neat idea! I'm glad I was able to find it again!

Happy to report that Risa-tan is ready! ^_______^

[link]

And also, because you've been more than gracious enough to share your source PSDs with us, I'd like to share Risa-tan's source SVG with you too. It's the SVG file entitled "rtl-01b-instructions.svg" in the below archive:

Let me know if you have any problems opening it, as I'll gladly accommodate you as best I can. ^^

Thank you again for letting me draw your wonderful characters! ^-^

Correction. My SVGs have been relicensed to CC-BY-SA per Doc's recommendation. ^^

Fortunately, I still kept your illustrations under CC-BY-NC. These can be downloaded separately here and combined with the rest of the source file by the user. ^__^

Look forward no more, as it is finally here my! ^v^

Still subject to change, though, but I'm very happy with it as it is now. ^^

Included copies of your original licenses with the PNG files used, although my own SVGs are licensed separately under CC-BY-NC-SA.

*squeals with delight*

I'm hoping to help Doctormo with a little side project of the existing translation. Before I do, I'd like to ask you....

Would you be happy if I did a little fanart at some point? ^^

I think Risa-chan would make a very cute SD character. ^-^'

Of course!
I'would be very happy to see your art on "Ubunchu!"
I'm looking forward to it.:-)

Thank you very much, Seotch-san! ^__^

I actually have some work done on the Ubunchu side project started, and already have a nice spot to put in an SD Risa-chan. So I hope to have something very nice to show you tomorrow! ^.^

I saw an SD Risa at your instruction page. She is so cute. I love it! :)

Oh nooooo! You saw the unfinished Risa-tan! >.<

I'm so sorry, so sorry, didn't mean to make her public! Will promise to finish her soon, like now! >v<

Just kidding,... ^.^

She IS unfinished and I WILL finish her now,... but definitely appreciate your kind words. If you find her cute now, I hope you will like the finished version. ^-^

*gets back to work*

I love it! Let me know how you license it.

Can you link to the magazine which it was printed in? I'd love to see articles.
seotch's avatar
Thank you for your comment!

You can use this pic freely so long as it's not commercial usage.

And,the link is here.
[link]

But I think the magazine which 'Ubunchu!' was printed in is sold only in Japan...... sorry.

I'll happily let you know on this site if this comic is available in English. :)

Oh I wanted to ask you if you did the image in a vector program and had the source image. These are much better for mashups :-)
seotch's avatar
Hi!

I painted this pic with Photoshop.
So I have the source image in pixel only, not in vector.
But if it's OK, I uploaded the original photoshop file with layers,in much larger image size.
I'm looking forward to your mashup!
Think you :)

Wow thanks for the psd, I'm going to have to wait so I can buy more ram though, Gimp chewed through 1GB of ram and 1GB of swap trying to load that sucker and still didn't manage it. What kind of beast of a workstation do you use to create such monstrous files? (perhaps it loads better in photoshop?)
seotch's avatar
I hope I could, but I do not use any kind of beast workstation :)
I just use a kitty kind of personal PC with Core 2 Duo E6400 Machine and 2GB RAM.... mmm there could be some defference between GIMP and Photoshop about handling of psd files.

I resized the file from 600dpi to 300dpi , tested it to be opend with GIMP on Windows XP,and uploaded it again as the same filename.
Try this new file. And if it would'nt work, tell me again.
Thanks!
