jesus.. i wish i could swim there but it's probably cold as heck
It depends on the time of year.  During the hotter months the shallow area is pretty temperate.

Trust me, the water in Lake Tahoe is freezing all year round! I was there in July and I only ever dipped my feet, and I'm not a girl who shies away from cold water most of the time since my family owns a cabin near Canada.
