Sakura and the Five Force Treasures by selenityshiroi Sakura and the Five Force Treasures by selenityshiroi
Opps...I lost track of the year and didn't realise it was September today until I got into work.

So, unfortunately, this Fanart to Celebrate NT Day is rather rushed and not as tidy as I would like to be, as I've just drawn it in three hours.

...Minus the circle, which I created five years ago when I first attempted this image! Trust me when I say that, despite the rush job, it's better than my last abandoned attempt!

Anyway, this is based on the scene of Sakura using the Five Force Treasures to seal The Plague. It's been a while since I read the scene and I drew this based on my original attempt rather than refreshing my memory of what actually happened. So it may not be accurate!

But I didn't want to let the day pass without submitting something! So, Happy New Trials Day, peeps!

This picture is so beautiful, and I can't believe you pulled off such beauty in a short amount of time! Sakura's outfit is really cute. I love the way you drew her hair. Her eyes are really amazing~ they really express the fact that she's going to be doing something that's more than likely not going to work out 100% in her favour, but she's going to do her best and make it happen anyway. Her hands are so pretty and you did an excellent job at the circle. Thanks for coming back to this fan art!

Thank you! I just went nosing through the Arc Collections you have, and this picture is now placed quite closely to the very old picture I drew of Sakura summoning the Wood card without a staff and I'm amazed at how similar they are in composition! The fact that her hair is blown around and the way her hands are placed are identical! But you can clearly see how different my artwork is from then, too!

:happybounce: It always makes me so happy to know that people are checking out my Arc collections!

I'm really happy that you drew a fan art for Chapter 51: The Third Choice because I didn't have a picture for the NT Wiki page for this chapter until now. Here it is: [link]

Do you remember what year you drew it? [link] It was definitely before 2008 because it was the original choice for the Independence prompt. It's amazing to see you grow as an arist, Selenity-chan! We're lucky to have you on the NT team!!

I drew the woody picture on 10th September 2004. Thank the stars for building my own computers and transferring all my files as all of my time stamps on my files are intact!

I was just surprised at how similar they were with an 8 year gap between them! It was completely unintentional!

Great! I added the date. If you want any other dates to be added to your older pictures, just let me know. :)

The subconscious can be tricky! It's really great that you have your old artwork. Part of the New Trials experience is reading about Wish-chan's computer woes in terms of losing fanart and files. >_<

The oldest files I have on my computer are from March 1998. The oldest NT fanart I have on my computer is from January 2002. Let's just say that THAT one isn't up on dA, nor do I think I've shared it anywhere before because even by 2004 when the yahoogroup kicked off it was already bad! (whilst we're talking ancient history (lol) I THINK I was the first person (who wasn't Wish-Chan, obviously) to post an NT fanart to the fandom, when I posted a Meilin picture to the yahoogroup)

The one time I almost lost my files was back in 2001, I believe. But we managed to get the dying harddrive hooked up to my new one and transferred the files via MSDOS. It helps to have a family full of computer savvy people!

By the way, I believe that the earliest NT fan artists were you, Atlantis Forester ([link]) and Chasva ([link] and [link])!

Now I'm curious to see it, hahaha. Can you tell me what was the subject?

Anyway, I finally updated the New Trials Fan Projects site: [link] It's incredible to see the amount of fan contributions to celebrate the anniversary. If you haven't seen Hazuki Goldair's gift yet, it will surely make you SQUEE!: [link]

A picture of an older Sakura. It is REALLY bad! It's never seeing the light of day!

I am, however, working on an updated version of that first Meilin! Just as a 'Now and Then' project! This conversation inspired me!

Happy New Trials Day, Selenity! I was hoping for a lot of excitement and surprises from the fans when I wrote the message and I am so pleased with the turn out. Do you have access to the New Trials Facebook group? The bulk of the updates are there. I'll write to you some more from my New Trials account.

I nose at the facebook account sometimes, but I don't post there. I actually HAVE a facebook account now but I don't use it and I think if I post using my account it'll show up to all my friended family and work colleagues! I don't get how facebook works...pout.

I made a second account for gaming and I used my mother's maiden name. One of my two brothers also played that game so he friended it. Facebook told my other brother that the two of us were friends with "her" and asked if that account belonged to a cousin that he didn't know about. So regardless whether you post or not, the information is there. But I think the only way that your friended family and colleagues would find it is if there are people who come from both worlds~ real life and virtual reality.

Personally, I don't even pay attention to Facebook's recommendations. By now I've added everyone who I wanted to add so I've phased it out of my attention like I do with ads, lol.

I recommend that you join the Facebook group because a lot of people find it more organized than the Yahoo Ring in terms of keeping the comments for the topics together. You don't have to post much... the gang would love to hear about your new fanarts. I've been posting your Magnet costume related pictures. Let me know if you want to make your group debut by posting this picture. There are new artists who are coming out of hiding. I'm sure your encouragement would do wonders for their confidence! But if you prefer not dipping into the Facebook seas any deeper, I would gladly notify the group on your behalf.

I would prefer not to post there myself, so I would be grateful if you would update the group on my behalf! I created a fake account long before my real one and two people I know IRL found it within a week, even with it being locked down completely with every possible privacy setting! I don't share my pictures or fandom life with anyone I know IRL so I try not to mix the two worlds. No one IRL even knows my online alias, even though I've been using it for over ten years and it's almost my second name, now!

Lol, I've been using "Amethyst Beloved" for ten years now and it was only a few months ago that my husband managed to wrangle it out from me. He had a good laugh at the level of cheesy-ness of my early fanfics but at least he said that the last one I wrote was a lot better. I enjoy showing him some of my fan art, though.

I posted the picture up! People really like it!

Wow, wow AMAZING!!! I always look forward to your pictures because all of them seem to tell a story, and you always attempt somethign different. One of my favorite of your pictures to date, I think. Love the long hair whipping about and how serious Sakura looks, and the glowing magic circle, the positioning of the fingers. ^^

Ah, thank you! There are certain scenes that grab my attention and make me seriously visualise them, and they are the ones I tend to try and draw. Sometimes it's the shippy scenes, sometimes it's the action/power scenes (and sometimes it's the 'ooo...shiny costume' scenes!).
