Tall-person proportions

Description

{Rambling below!}

Drawings of Mask Face have historically been exrtreeemely... leggy. :XD: From as far back as this to as recently as this. I've come to understand that this makes her look, proportion-wise, rather like an alien. :'D Looking at some reference photos of actual taller-than-6-feet people (when they could be found), I notice that it's often a bit hard to tell how tall they actually are unless they are standing next to shorter people.

That being said. Masky is a gray person. Gray people generally have longer limbs, in proportion, than other human races. So some exaggeration is appropriate for her. But for GOODNESS sakes, let's avoid the alien!! :XD:

I chose this older drawing to practice with. (It was fun to draw that kickass gear on her again! :D ) I dunno how 'accurate to reality' the proportions are now (nor indeed, how much that really matters), but at least the whole shape of the person seems to look more like Masky. I dunno why the older one came out so much more 'hourglassy' but it's more so than Masky is really supposed to be, to be honest... Masky is a lean string-bean, with the bare minimum of female shape to make someone go 'yeah, I'm going to guess you're a lady'. :lol:

...So yeah! This has been me practicing drawing tall people's proportions (specifically, of course, those of really stringy women near 6-foot-5), without as much 'alien-like' limb length. x3 Not sure if I'm doing a great job yet. As the Very Uncertain Checkmark aptly declares. x'P

I kind of think about this sort of stuff too when I'm trying to draw Dominick (he stands at 6"7) and from what I noticed that even their faces tend to look long, so Dominick as a bit of a longer face while Vian has boxier shape. Though Dominick flys and has a strong upper body (Dorito shaped as my close friends call it, lol )I think it was a good choice to narrowing her out from the hour glass shape.( I think it makes it fun to make characters look ambiguous!). I am curious though, have you tried shortening her torso just a hair? to see what it would look like?
