...And it probably won't be rising from its grave any time soon.
The group currently exists only as an archive. To see the gallery folders, click on the "gallery" tab.
Obviously, all submissions must be based on SEGA characters, games, and consoles, and these SEGA creations must be considered "underappreciated" or "forgotten" in some way. DeviantArt has a lot of fanart of major characters from Sonic the Hedgehog, but far less attention is paid to the rest of SEGA's history. Most SEGA creations qualify for this group: all of SEGA's consoles have long since been discontinued, and most SEGA games don't receive as much attention as say, Mario or GTA, or are only significantly well-known and popular in one region of the world (looking at you, Puyo Puyo). The only SEGA game series with any major restrictions on fanart submissions is Sonic. We also allow certain third-party characters that are often associated with SEGA, like Bubsy and Sparkster. Just ask.
We do not accept fanart of main characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise; the Sonic folders are for less prominent characters. Images containing characters who appear often throughout the franchise need to also contain less prominent Sonic characters, non-Sonic SEGA characters, third-party characters, or consoles to be accepted. We do allow Sonic characters who haven't had major game appearances in many years, who disappeared from the game series for many years but returned (without getting much attention from the public at large), who are from unreleased games, or who were removed from games during development. If you're not sure, just ask.
We currently don't accept characters from non-game media, such as comic books, TV shows, or movies, unless the art also contains allowed content, such as non-main Sonic game characters, content from non-Sonic SEGA/third-party games, or SEGA consoles. However, characters from non-game media are allowed if they eventually appeared in games in a significant, non-cameo way - for instance, Virgil Reality from the Bubsy cartoon pilot is an allowed character due to being playable in Bubsy: Paws On Fire, while the comic/cartoon characters who appeared in Sonic Spinball are not allowed because they only got a small, dubiously canon cameo.
Please only submit art you made yourself, heavily edited, or were given permission to post by the creator. Please do not submit stock art slapped onto a blank background with minimal editing, or AI generated images.
We're inclusive about shipping fanart. All orientations are fine, and polyamory is fine. Even crack shipping is fine as long as it's relevant to the group (shipping game powerups with each other? Go for it!).
"Mature" art is generally allowed. Just label it correctly. The only exception is highly sexual content, since the mods are people too and don't necessarily want to see that. (Sorry, porn artists.) Artistic/incidental nudity is still fine.
Artwork of OCs/Fan Characters are only accepted if they include at least one official "forgotten" SEGA character.
Gender-bending, cross-dressing, etc. are all fine.
It is preferable, but not required, that you state who the characters are/where they're from. There are a lot of games out there, and it can be hard to keep track of them all, so please bear with us. This will make it easier for our admins to make sure artwork goes into the correct folders, where it can be more easily seen by people who like it.
If you see art that violates any of these rules in the group's gallery folders, chances are that it either was added to the group before a rule change, or was added by mistake and frankly should not be here. The rules still apply regardless of any anomalies in folders
Hello hello, welcome to the SEGA Sanctuary.
Our aim here is to compile the most comprehensive fanart archive possible, featuring the forgotten characters from SEGA's illustrious history.
My hope is that if you're old enough to be reading this, you know how to be civil to those you don't know, so I shan't patronize you all with the "keep it clean" routine.

YO! Thank you so much! I'm also happy to see that the group here is still active. Was wondering about that. If ya'll need any help with administrating or something, I'd be happy to help if need be. But yeah, I appreciate the addition!
I really, really need help with administrating. I haven't been able to properly keep up with running the group in years, and the group's almost dead because of that.
The folder was a good suggestion. Hopefully it will be possible to revive the group somehow, so that people can actually use that folder...
