The Shuttlebay Duo

Takes Place in my  Saratoga verse.

Delta Spaceport

Today husband and wife team, Petty Officers Raju Alluri and Carmen Bautista, are reporting for duty

at their newest assignment.

Although he’s skilled with all types of maintenance, Alluri' true mastery lies as a shuttle technician.
He loves shuttles and everything about them and is ever aware of the importance of keeping them
in prime condition.

Bautista's specialties are all aspects of the shuttlebay, both the shuttles, and the area where they're kept. 
Be it maintenance, equipment, loading, unloading, refueling or repair, she’s expert in all of it. 

For eight years the two of them served on the science surveyor, USS Saratoga. Six of those years were
under the command of the famous  James T. Kirk . They worked primarily in the Shuttlebay and became known as the Shuttelbay Duo.

It was a very special eight years. It was on the Saratoga that they formed lifelong bonds, met each other

and married. But all things end.

On Stardate 2265.6.7. the Saratoga was attacked and although the entire crew survived and escaped
due to both the sacrifice of Kirk and the intervention of the mysterious Q, the stalwart little ship was destroyed.

Kirk has been given a new assignment- the new, soon to be launched Flagship, USS Endeavour.
Much of his former crew have transferred there with him.

The Shuttlebay Duo would have as well if not for one important factor. The Endeavour, unlike the Saratoga is not a family ship and at the time of the Saratoga's destruction the Duo learned that they would be parents in eight months.

So instead both of them have been transferred to the Delta Spaceport. A large station with a 3000

member crew and over 5000 civilians, it serves both as a Federation outpost, a shipping/commercial
hub and a refuel/repair facility. Located in a heavy traffic area, ships, both Starfleet and civilian,
come through regularly. Meaning plenty of work for the Shuttlebay Duo and an interesting place for
little Juanita to be born.
